  1. Countdown will soon begin... incre.... :) hint for all those waiting.. 38 minutes ago via HTC Peep

Someone else on hofo guessed that maybe the 6 was a counter to days until announcement.

i just hope when this phone launches there isnt any really BIG issues....that would suck if the phone came out and was very very buggy and poor build quality, screen issues ext...lol

Well, with the info we've had here so far, it seems that they've already tested the heck outta thins thing. I'd be extremely surprised if anything major or semi-major managed to slip through the cracks.

Thanks again to all who have posted good intel - appreciate your efforts! :)

I find it interesting that places like Best Buy can get a phone in house days if not weeks before the actual carrier (Verizon in this case) can get the phone in their own stores. Doesn't make a lot of sense. That being said, I think I will have to wait and get it from a Verizon store because my wife gets a discount from her employer and we will have to rework our calling plans once this thing drops. Unless of course, I can get the phone from whoever has it first, then worry about changing the calling plans and getting the discount stuff squared away later...sounds good...buy Incredible first, ask questions later!

In these cases, usually the retailer pays extra in order to have early exclusivity to selling the device in hopes to make more by selling accessories. Kind of like when Best Buy sells new release DVDs/Blu-Rays; on average Best Buy takes a $2-$5 dollar loss on the sale of a new DVD that week just to bring customers in to buy other stuff.

I hope this doesn't get counted as off topic.
I really, really want this HTC incredible.

I just bought a droid 3 days ago in the Verizon store before I knew that much about either phone. Since i've had the droid, it's dropped so many calls due to the proximity sensor that I've lost count. It's heavy. It's bulky.

I was told I had 30 days to decide if I wanted it. I'm wondering if I take it back that I can still do an upgrade to the Incredible when it's out ?

God I sure hope so...this droid is giving me such heartache dropping and muting my calls unexpectedly. I so wish I would have seen this thread 3 days ago!

Yeah, I have been getting dropped calls with the Droid too. What is happening with the proximity sensor? Have you figured out how to avoid getting the dropped calls, till the Incredible comes out?

My samsung I760 windows mobile phone crapped out on Monday. So I bit the bullet and got a eris. I was hoping that this announcement would come within my 30 day window. :-) Incredible timing.

I have a call into the salesperson I bought the eris from. If I hear back from her I will let you know. I dont see why we cant upgrade. She mentioned to me I could come back and upgrade to any phone in the store for the $35 dollar restocking fee.

Hello all. I'm another lurker of some time coming out of the shadows to say hello on this day of joyous leakages. First smartphone I got was a AT&T "Tilt" (TytnII, I believe), but it took some damage about 6 months ago so I ended up buying a Samsung Propel Pro 2. It's not a bad phone. The hardware keyboard is really nice but the lack of touch controls was rather antiquated.
My contract with AT&T was up in February and I've been waiting for the Incredible ever since. Just been going at it with a 1 month-by-month subscription. Looks like I'll be switching to big red later this month! Woop woop!

I'm hoping for a simultaneous release at BB and VZW. I've got a chunky gift card for BB.

Now I've just gotta get confirmation from my work's IT guy on our discount.

I couldn't contain my excitement anymore. I needed to talk to someone else who know how incredible the incredible is! So I went to the BB next door and talked to the guy there ... nothing new obviously - but I said was waiting till the end of the month to get a new phone and was asking about pricing plans (sorta new to Verizon). When I said I was going to get the incredible he was like "ya it's going to be amazing but there aren't any official release dates on it" and I said "oh but there is on the internets!" he said "ya but that's been going on for a while" and I said "yes but this morning there were leaks about internal BB stuff!" and he was like "damn those people who leak stuff" haha =P

also not that it makes a difference or that he knows entirely but I was concerned about it selling out so I was asking about what time I should come in. He said that BB usually does preorders for popular phones about a week ahead of time and he thought that they might do that like they did with the droid ... but doesn't seem like that is the case given the date of the 25th for first advertisement.
