[Sprint] 4g Class Action Lawsuit Against Sprint?

The Chicago area has some pretty decent LTE coverage, but there are still some pockets in the 'burbs and downtown Chicago that are not lit up yet.

As far as legal ramifications, anybody who is a Sprint customer and upgraded to a LTE phone should have known or at least the rep should have told them that Sprint is still rolling out Network Vision, and coverage would be pretty spotty for the foreeable future. So I'm not sure if a lawsuit would hold any water. It's probably buried in the contract everyone signs about service performance.

This is a pretty big undertaking for Sprint and won't be complete for quite a while. We're talking hundreds of tower upgrades across the country and it's not like they can snap their fingers and BAM instant LTE.

People should really do their homework before going with a service provider.

I definitely knew it would take a while for them to roll out LTE. I don't quite remember if that was from research I did before I got my phone, or from best buy when I bought it, but I think it was both. I just thought that by now they would be a bit further along. I realize they have tens of thousands of towers to upgrade, but if they want to remain a viable company they better start picking up the pace. I always figured the Denver area would be upgraded in maybe early 2014, but I don't see that happening with the pace they are moving.

Well with this deal with Softbank, Sprint now has the capital to hopefully pickup the pace and speed up the Network Vision rollout. It's still going to be slow but hopefully LTE will be lit up sooner rather than later in your area.

Sites like s4gru.com is an excellent resource for news about the Sprint NWV rollout around the country. Also if you're not satisfied with the performance, just call Sprint's CS and make your feelings known.

When they were rolling out LTE here in Chicago over the summer it was pretty bad. I called several times and complained, and they credited my monthly bill.

I could see someone trying something like a class action for wimax. Many were promised by sales people they'd get it and it never materialized. However, like others have mentioned there was no contractual agreement that you would get it.

Wimax isn't going down for a few years yet, so if you had wimax and bought the lte, then that was probably the wrong decision.

You had to know going into the evo 4g lte that when it was sold there was no lte. These things don't happen overnight. Its takes more than flipping a switch to get a nationwide network rolled out.

It may not be going down but based on my last 2 wimax phones you'd never know wimax even existed.
As it stands now, if I weren't able to use wifi 99% of the time, I'd be mad!
Based on LTE rollout I should have it soon but soon isn't soon enough.
I cannot use data unless I'm on wifi.

I have LTE coverage pretty much all over Wichita, Ks. There are some spots that are still 3G but I get full signal at my house with 4G and average 6-24 mbps down and 9-18 up. It's coming...just gotta be patient.

Also I've yet to have a 4G outage like Verizon seems to have weekly around here.

kinda late here, but im in Wichita too with my 4g HTC EVO and I have yet to get a 4g signal, im thinking about upgrading to an S3 if that helps me obtain a 4g signal.

Im NE wichita btw, Rock Road area!!

If you only have the evo 4g you will only get wimax and 3g. You need the evo 4g LTE or the s3 to get LTE.

Kind of ironic, but this is what I was thinking too. More than the LTE (which is still coming) you might argue the WiMax customer like myself who purchased WiMax phones before Sprint announced the switch to LTE would have more of "a case". Mainly because if we don't have coverage now (like in Phoenix), we will never get it even if we were promised it. However, as many people have said, this is not the place for this type of thing. Love my Evo3D, love HTC, but very disappointed in Sprint. (In my area)

I don't know how Sprint gets away with not having wimax or LTE in the 6th largest city in the USA - Phoenix, AZ. Still not on road map...sigh.
Ohh, I hear ya'! Don't get me started, my friend... I could talk for hours lol :D

Same here. Getting 95kb/s at home. Glad I have WiFi =)
