thats the only 4.0.4 kernel we have atm.. lol

EDIT: here's a theory.. is it possible for you guys to get back onto stock/root, then flash this WITHOUT wiping data, and see if you radios still work :D

lol yeah i pretty much figured that would happen.. do you know anything of how to pack and sign a rom? anyone? with a sg3? lol save me the 4 hour upload time...

if possible, someone with this device can take my files
un pack them
remove the boot.img
then open updater-script and remove line(s) refferring to boot.img and delete all permissions set lines
repack rom so it is only installing the system folder and symlinks
then flash THAT over the stock root backup..

depending on what happens after you flash this, will tell me whether it's kernel related issue or not...
 
Bit over my head. Does it need to be unpacked or can I just delete boot.IMG? Also I'm not good with updater scripts and symlinks. I don't think I'm ur guy for this. Sorry.

lol it's fine :D yeah you would need to edit updater script to not install a boot.img, otherwise when you try to flash with no boot.img you'll get an installation aborted message or whatever error it says.. basically i want this system flashed over the stock one as if it were a theme, this way your device should keep original permissions and have the new system applied if you still have no data/service than it may be an issue with kernel modules or just something corrupt in the system, if you DO have service than it IS the permissions and i need to figure out the correct ones

Luckily I took a little bit of Spanish so I understood some of that lol

So unzip, remove boot.img and edit updater-script? I can do it for ya.
 
can someone who is rooted do me a favor? in terminal emulator or adb shell

dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/NON-HLOS.bin

and upload that for me :)

doesnt matter what rom you are on either :P

hey shabby!! ;) nice to see you back lol i sure could use some help brother!! haha having a helluva time with setting the correct permissions for this device's stock/de-odex'd rom lol got everything working except radio's.. currently trying to pin-point whether it's the kernel im providing or like PG mentioned with faulty permissions.. any help would be greatly appreciated bro

ive no idea i havent bother trying to download your stuff to see whats wrong. been too busy screaming at UPS as my phone is still "somewhere" the only advice they gave me was "wait til tomorrow and see what happens". its all kind of a red blur after that....

lol that made me laught because i know the exact feeling hahaha, but damn that sucks man :(, it's cool i appreciate the gesture.. im still in a trial and error phase of this thing.. wish i had a device to test on :/ lol usually makes things so much easier.

Okay I'm back! No data still after flashing over stock rooted backup. Boot.img not flashed.

did you also remove the set permissions lines?

if so, than this could mean it's a corrupt system :D which is good in the long run but aweful for this very moment LOLOL0

EDIT: can you pastebin me a copy of your installer-script?? :D
