I would, but I feel like the Incredible will be more powerful. It's supposed to have the same if not more RAM, ROM, and an 8MP camera. Also, the optical trackpad is nice. The HTC Desire is able to disable sense, I think they should do it with the Incredible as well! YouTube - Turning an HTC Desire into a Nexus One

If you read the comments people have stated that this functionality was removed with the final ROM. So unfortunately you can no longer turn off sense. That is unless you install a nexus one rom and deal with the challenges that has. But that also requires the phone to be rooted.

Perhaps disable is the wrong term. You can use the stock android home screen instead of the pretty Sense UI. It doesn't quite remove all traces of Sense. So what you did with the Eris is the same that can be done with the Incredible.

Now, if you want to completely remove Sense UI that's gonna take a ROM update.

I figured that's what you meant. It should be as simple as force killing HTC Sense, resetting defaults, and choosing the stock home screen as default.

But as much as I don't like the Sense UI on the Eris, I wouldn't disable it on the Incredible lol it looks sweet, but lags like crazy sometimes on the Eris.

dude, seriously...i'm winded as $hit after the day this has been with tipping, watermarking, file type/size/resolution quotas, security tokens, etc...

I know you want more, i do too! There may be another nugget or two rolling in over the next few days but i wouldn't hold my breath.

Anon, Thank you for all the hard work you put in for us greedy phone junkies today. Really appreciate it- Thanks to all your sources too:) Give them a big hug from me 'k? ( tell them it's from a girl so they won't get the wrong idea:p)

A Persian proverb and I haven't heard of it!!

I want it written in Farsi!

It's not on paper at all. It's electronic only. Most things are doing this now to save money on printing manuals (oh and that whole save the planet thing too).

EDIT: And how in the world can you think a 206 page pdf manual is a fake?

I hate to even encourage this discussion, but my thought is that most of the pages don't have information specific to the incredible, but rather generic UI instructions. So technically if you were to fake something like this, you'd be making up a lot fewer than 200 pages.

Just playin' devil's advocate a bit. Not saying it's actually fake.

You can't always get what you want.....you can't always get what you want...you can't always get what you want.....

But if you try sometimes, you just mind find, you get what you need!

Hey hey hey!! My professional google english to farsi translation is much better andddd I posted first, thankyouverymuch!!

:D :D :D

Hey cool! That took me like 5 minutes to read. But, I mean, I want it in the way its supposed be written, not translated! It won't make sense translated back into Farsi from English which was translated from Farsi already! You know what I mean.

Plus it would be cool if it is transliterated.

As long as the battery lasts me a full day I'm not all that concerned. I'm sure we'll be able to get larger capacity batteries through 3rd parties and possibly vzw also.
I wouldn't be 100% sure of this. I've only seen 1 3rd party battery for the N1 and it wasn't that big of an increase. I am waiting for an android phone with a charging case that doubles the battery life like the iphone gets =/

They get all the fancy 3rd party toys.

Too bad the USB is on the left side rather than on the bottom. Harder to use when plugged in and holding left handed. Also makes a cradle need to have the phone sideways.

A zillion dollars says its there so when its put in a cradle horizontal, like for a alarm clock type house cradle, or a car cradle for the gps features, it has a place to plug in to.

Since it seems like ya'll are in the know do ya'll know if you have to get an additional app(which cost $30-50) for tethering if you get the tethering data plan?

The UG was the first I've heard of tethering through VZW officially for any Android phone. It will probably be a pre-installed app (like they started to do with Mobile Hotspot on the Pre) and you will pay for it through VZW. I would highly doubt you would have to pay for the app, I'd be shocked.

You guys, please forgive me. I'm not tech savvy AT ALL. Trying to get this together was like pulling teeth, and it's not even that good...I thought this might just be a VERY basic help to some people...if it's not, or inaccurate, please disregard!!

EDIT: Things like this should be left to anonimac...

I just have ZERO inside info, so I try to contribute where I can...

and by the way...i had to google how to take a screen shot:confused:

I have no info on pricing (plan or device).
cool thx anyway, alot of people are saying $15 let's see what happens

Great that would be awesome(except for it being free)

No sweat and I don't blame you...I would ask myself if that wouldn't be weird just in case there was something else i knew but forgot to tell myself, but i checked, and everything i know matches all the stuff i told myself earlier so we're good.:D

The significant design change and the expense of doing so. very odd for HTC to make significant changes like this, besides cosmetics with case and some radio changes.

Why? Do you really think every phone they make has the same guts inside? That's not really how electronics work. You can get a couple variations out of the same board but overall you have to redesign it as you move to different features. At this point if you want to compete with the fruit phone you have to go in the direction of adding on-board memory and that's a logical direction to go. Maybe the Incredible is just the first phone in a line of future phones to include these features.

I think your misconception is that this is Verizon's version of the desire, I personally don't think this phone is meant to be a version of the desire, this is a completely different phone with a few specs the same as the desire. the same way this has some specs the same as the N1 doesn't mean it's verizons version of the N1.
