Sure have...
If you change the permissions to rwx-r-r for any given file it will calculate, but it always reverts back. If your interested, in RE, change the permissions for all the /system/secapps to rwx-r-r. Hit refesh then exit. Make sure everything is RW. Download launcher pro. Long press on screen, add shortcut, activities. LP opens up a ton of system activities, some work some crash. Play around and see what you can find. IOTHidden menu/secure boot is how I got those screenshots. Nobody has cracked this thing, and I'm too green yet to get it done. I know there's a web app that will generate keys from sha1sums. I'm not sure if there's an argument in the terminal to get it to see hidden files or not, so I changed the perms for .nv_state to rwx-r-r and renamed it nv_state. Then opened terminal. #hexdump /efs/nv_state. Got the output. Then I #sha1sum /efs/nv_state. Got that output. I think the bootloader is locked. Everthing that we can flash thusfar is based off OEM kernel. I've tried to dd several different boot.img's and the device won't boot. I may be WAY OFF, but I'll keep traveling the road to nowhere until someone tells me differently.![]()
I believe that that the bootloader is unlocked. For one, as xInterlopeRx stated, we have access to Odin which gives us the ability to install custom files. As far as the kernel goes, we can only flash the OEM Kernel because that's the only one we have so far. No one has built a custom kernel for this phone as far as I know. If you try to flash boot.img's from other phones, of course it's not going to boot. I would be surprised if it did boot.

I'm fairly confident you're way ahead of me. I just thought it strange when I found that menu. I know an unlocked bootloader isn't a prerequisite to gaining root. As far as Odin goes, that's just the program we use for Samsung. Does Heimdall only work on unlocked phone's? What about adb? I've only tried images from different variants of the GS2 GTi9100 Qcom builds as well as the unofficial CM10 floating around here. I figured it was worth a try. Don't you find it strange that this is the ONLY forum with any development advances on this device? Keep up the good bro, props to you. BTW, is it necessary that we have like 150 system apps on this thing?![]()
No it isn't necessary for all the system apps, i removed so many of mine, i have a ton of space available now, and by a ton i only mean 70 mb but it is better than the like 1.4 i started with
Do you know which ones share UID's and affect the market? I've read the file, but a ways back I dumped something and the market banned me from apps that were still installed. IE "Your device doesn't support this nonsense"
I could compile a list for you, but not right now, I'm at work haha
