Help restoring sms using .xml backup?

SMS backup & Restore uses xml files for restoring, so you should in theory just put the file you have on your internal memory and it will find it and restore it.

seems like that app has a problem with samsung phones
I use it every time I flash something and have not had any problems.

Hi, I am using android phone "Elephone S7" and couple of days ago I did Factory Reset my phone and took its SMS & Call Backup via the App that I was using. Now the problem is this that after Resetting my Phone when I download the SMS & Call Backup App again and tried to Restore the Backup an error occurred that "the restore file is not supported". When I check the file extension of the Backup file extension is "XML" and previously I took the Backup that file was "VMSG" extension. Please suggest what should I do to restore my back up.
