***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

Long time lurker (like before page 200). I joined a few days ago to down load the UG just thought I would share my CSR story, and ask a question. I went to my local Verizon store to check mine and my second line updates, wanted to make sure they were both eligible. They are very good news for me. But the Rep as I was walking in was just finishing selling a Driod to someone who obviously doesn't obsess about these things (feel sorry for him,or myself not sure who yet). He then helped to check my lines and told me I'm not using my Friends and Fam so got me going said what phone can I get you? I said it's not out yet just wanted to check. He says ohhh you want the Nexus I said no Incredible he rolls his eyes and says that it hasn't even heard that the name has been confirmed. That it's not coming out this month, I don't believe a word he says so I said is it possible that it will come out at Best Buy first? Then to Verizon? Ohhh NO we still would have had training now. I know that you can't believe everything you read but I will trust crowd sourcing and this thread far more then a Verizon sales rep.
So end to this story he did say that if it does go to Best Buy first then I shouldn't get it there cause I can't use Verizon instore help if it breaks or whatever, I'd have to go to best buy's customer service (mind you I know they are commissioned so I know he has to be biased). What's everyones thought on this is it better to wait if Verizon doesn't get it on the 29?

ok, so here's the issue with topics like this so please read and maybe next time we don't get caught up in this...(blame goes to Steven58 who should know better by now ...ol' a$$ instigator)

So you say something like..."Sounds like we need a poll"...

And 7 pages (and everyone's life story...and possibly Mod involvement, thread closing, etc...) later it's over...

Issue is nobody skips to the last page or reads all the way before posting. We all can't wait to share our own info (i'm guilty myself) and some funny quip about it. So anyone's warning to stop posting, get back "on topic" (whatever that even is on this thread these days), etc... is basically pointless because in a matter of minutes you have 100-200 posts.

Having said that, lets let this current topic run its course, everyone go ahead and tell us whatever you want to tell us regarding your age but in the future lets be mindful of how EASY it is for something like this to get out of hand and avoid it!

Well I dont think anyone expects someone to wade through 600+ pages. But there is a "search this thread" feature that you can use. its one thing if 2 or 3 people repeat the same thing in a span of 4 minutes or so because they're typing their post up and won't see the others by the time they hit submit. But for something days or months ago just use the search this thread.

This will probably get me banned. But in all seriousness.. How can you guys even consider supporting a company run by a CEO who makes statements like this:

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2010/04/verizon-ceo-studies-be-damned-us-is-tops-in-broadband.ars

Finally, if you're a high-bandwidth user of Verizon's smartphone data services, the company will soon hunt you down and throttle you. (The company has long had a maximum transfer limit on monthly data plans.)
Seidenberg: But when we now go after the very, very high users, the ones who camp on the network all day long every day doing things that—who knows what they're doing—those are the—
Murray: It's video, right? I mean, it's video.
Seidenberg: But those are the people we will throttle and we will find them and we will charge them something else.
??? Anyone?

Lot of Phillies fans here, and you can add one more to the list. 25, no marriage, no kids, plenty of money for an incredible and new 2 year contract. I just want to erase the mistake I made picking up a samsung glyde 2 years ago, and watch the home opener today at three. Also I plan on getting this phone asap, in regards to waiting to see if there are bugs, if there are any significant problems I can always return it.

Add another phillie fan to the list!
23, in grad school for nutrition, engaged, student loans out the behind but regardless, enjoyin life

I know how you feel. I bought an LG Voyager, the original "iPhone killer," just over two years ago, and I'm desperate for a change. I think I'll go for a one-year contract this time, though.

How many people here are planning to buy their HTC Incredibles with a one-year contract? Anybody going retail?

1) Is anyone going to wait for reviews of the phone before rushing out and getting one themselves, or is the general consensus that with Android 2.1, a phone like this can be purchased on specs alone.

Waiting is all I've done for forever it seems. Since I decided to tryout Sprint in the meantime, a new option has opened up for me. After 1 week into this experiment, my service has been great and I've enjoyed all of the complimentary features of their Everything plan like Visual voicemail and GPS that I would have had to pay Verizon extra for. I think that I'm going to be waiting until June for the EVO now. But I'll still keep my eyes open to Incredible news in the meantime.

36 3 kids + Wife(physical therapist) Been married to the same person for 12 years hopefully another 40 years. Mortgage is my only debt.
Worked for Verizon for 12 years.
Worked from home last 3 years.
Love this Incredible forum and will be getting the phone the day it comes out.

Will be 61 on April 15. I'm the Grandpa sounds like. Boy I'm feeling older by the post but I still want the incredible.

35, 2 kids (one of which is only part time :( ) Selling my house on a short sale (not fun) , a fairly new car with a blown motor (Never again will I buy a mazda), a beater truck which is now my daily driver which was only used for dump runs before, and now all I can do is wait for this killer phone and hope it drowns my sorrows away.

Can someone post the link to the ***Official HTC Incredible Thread***? I seem to have misplaced it. All I see here are people's ages, movie quotes and sports. I may just be a stickler, but I'm looking for a discussion about a new phone coming out called "Incredible" and it's made by a company called HTC. Any information on where I can find said link would be appreciated.

It's interesting to read everyone's story. I'll share mine.

I just turned 22, graduated with my Bachelors in Biology. I graduated with no debt and don't owe a penny to anyone. I'm an aspiring dentist and I'm applying to dental schools this summer. I've never smoked or drank alcohol, and I'm pure vegetarian (people's faces when they learn of this: )....:D

I love to travel to exotic locations around the world and enjoy long walks on the beach with even more exotic women.

I think you are living a good, clean, boring life! Just kidding, you're doing well!

Just remember, if God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat! :)

Been lurking for awhile... after getting prematurely excited about both the Passion and Bravo, I'm excited for the impending release of the Incredible. It's time to retire my LG VX6800... :D

2) Is it worth just getting a one year contract with Verizon? I am strongly considering this option just in case any LTE enabled phones come out by early 2011.

I just dont see any value in switching phones every year. I learn the thing, then dump it?? That doesnt make sense to me.
I've had my current phone for a long time and its a "smart"phone. Its fine but it aint the latest/greatest.
If this is obsolete as they say 6 months from now, who cares. It wont be obsolete for me. I dont a satisfaction index gap that closes that quickly.

But thats how I live.

Good luck.
