Root [Verizon] Getting an S3 to use an SD card

Hi All,

Is there a definitive step by step guide somewhere, anywhere, that walks you through getting an S3 to use an installed microSD card? I bought a 64GB card for mine hoping it would magically recognize and utilize it. Yes, I deserve your scorn and ridicule for being so wrong. ;) I'd like to be able to store music, apps, ringtone and pictures there if possible.

Actually . . . you`re not wrong. I installed mine & it was pretty much plug & play. Maybe different manufacturers/brands are different, Not sure there. Maybe more details on what it`s doing/not doing would help . . .

Go to settings > storage

If you see it there, you just need to format it.

If you don't see it there, you need to reseat the card in the slot.

If that doesn't work you have a defective card.
 
Hah! I guess I didn't look closely enough. There are, indeed, folders on the new SD card! And, when I take pictures and videos, they're put on these folders! That's good. Now, I'd like for be able to move my apps there too. How would one move apps? I've been looking at apps that can tell if other apps can recognize SD cards. But, a their reviews have been less than desirable.

Even if you find a way DON'T! It will soft brick your phone at some point for sure.
 
I've found that to use an SD card, just take it out of the package, and put it in the phone. Don't format it. Just use it as is.
Use an SDXC card, not an SDHC.

Once the card is in the phone, never remove it, and never un-mount it.

Do all file transfers using ES File browser over wifi or cable.
