Root [Sprint/Cricket] The death ( and rebirth) of my s3

So its been an interesting few days for me. I woke up wed morning late for work and wondering why none of the 3 alarms I have set on my phone didnt wake me up.... then I realized it was completely dead ON the charger. I assumed my charger had bit the dust . So I put it on my car charger and went to work. An hour later went back to my car ....5 percent charge. Wtf ! Here is what I did to try to fix the situation.

1: traded batteries with my girl who has the same phone....did a little better but it wouldnt charge past 48% no matter how long I charged it

2: factory reset / return to stock. I had been running the 4.1.2 leak without a problem so flashed stock rom, didnt fix the problem.

3: reset flash counter, unrooted, went to sprint. They checked everything in my phone and told me it passed all tests (battery test, charge test, ) and wanted me to leave my phone there for 24 hours for them to further test. Not an option in my line of profession.

4: took phone home, let it completely die, put it on the charger with it OFF until it completely charged, repeat twice. T his seems to have WORKED. Its now charging just fine. I dont know what the issue was but this seemed to have fixed it.

Has anyone else run into issues similer to this?

I know my Evo 3D had this problem a few times. I never did figure out what caused it, but from what I've read, it's actually GOOD to let your phone completely discharge and die.
My guess is something went wonky with the battery and the way it was sitting in your phone (again, best guess, don't quote me on this lol :p)

I took the baterry out put it back in took it out again cleaned the contacts. I tried just about everything I could think of to fix it.
