19 degrees here on the mountain :-( yesterday was so nice.
Apparently I need to start dieting as well, my pants are tight in all the wrong places
 
Does any of ye fine lads know if one can take a ROM built for name brand tablet and flash it on a cheap comparable tablet? Me boys both have cheapies...their old enough to enjoy the world of tablets but still too young to invest in the more expensive ones quite yet.
 
If you have a variant of the same model, its probably much easier.

Example, a Vodafone branded Galaxy S3 can have an unbranded ROM flashed onto it, and visa versa. But you wouldn't expect that same ROM to work on a nexus due to variation in hardware/drivers etc. (so thats for phones but same principle applies i believe)

The safest answer is no. Flashing a ROM intended for one device to another, even with comparable hardware will most likely lead to a

Now, if you want to take the risk, you might get lucky, but the budget devices are usually made from non-standard hardware and difficult to find compatible firmware.
