He is basing that on the N1 having some sort of shared pixel technology where it does not use a r/g/b in each pixel...it uses alternating version of 2 pixels and one is twice as big....

I do not know how that looks compared to the eris that i had...but i hated the eris screen...it was blurry and weak.

If the incredible screen isn't alot better than the eris i too will be waiting on the iPhone.

PS... why is it when i try to post here i get a pop up window asking me to save the php file????:mad::mad::mad:

No, it has 800x480 native.

Also, more resolution is a BAD thing, at least on a 4" screen. You won't be able to see the difference with higher resolution than this and it takes up more processing power which will take up more battery life. :rolleyes:

I am an avid Costco shopper as well, just never got a phone through them. I really want to know about their rebate processing. Is it instant or mail in?

That's false. It IS 800x480. He is just talking about a way that the pixels are designed in HTC's OLED screens which some have said isn't the full resolution, but it is 800x480, despite what they say.

Also, can you use your NE2 at Costco? That free accessory kit sound good.

Best Buy lets you use NE2 right? Wouldn't Costco be the same?

Well, not really. Anyway, this article explains it well:

Basically in the picture, each of the red and blue pixels should be split in half and have the other color in there too. This is something that bugs me a lot, and makes me wish they HADN'T used an AMOLED screen. Sure, if it looks good it doesn't matter much, but thats the thing: it distorts colors and just makes things (like text on a website) fuzzier. More resolution is never a bad thing unless it doesn't have a high DPI too. Yeah, using the same DPI as a HVGA screen on a WVGA screen is bad and will make everything smaller. Theres a reason Android supports like 3 different DPI settings. Battery life may be the best argument for this, but even so, I doubt it'd save more than half an hour.

Summary: I think you're dumb if you think they shouldn't have gone with a true 800x480 screen.
 
Here's a thought to help those who are anxiously waiting for the incredible to release in 2 weeks...

Since most of you are sitting around all day (at work or home) pressing F5 on this forum, you must realize that that same computer you are using to view this post actually can do most of the things the incredible can do!

You want to browse the internet? Go ahead and browse on your much bigger monitor!!

You want to play a game? There are plenty of games (much better!) games on your PC or Mac!

You want to do some twittering or facebook or IMing? You have plenty of options on your computer.

You want to check the weather? Go to weather.com or even download a weather widget to your computer!

You want to take pictures or record video? Don't you already have a digital camera or a camera on your existing phone? Go use it!!

You need to make a phone call or text? Use that Piece of Sh*t existing phone you have. It's still on the great verizon network so calls will go through! Or better yet, use your land line!

Need to use GPS? Well if you are that desperate and can't wait 2 weeks to have a machine tell you how to drive back home from work.. then, go buy a Tom Tom for $100.

You want to read that PDF file or that ebook? Go download adobe reader! I'm sure you already did to read that Incredible User's Guide.

Bu..Bu.. I want to play with android!!? Guess what? There are android emulators you can install on your computer too!!!

So as you can see, the only advantage to having the incredible is that it is mobile, but since most of you are sitting on your ass all day in front of the computer, USE IT has if you already have the phone!!

But, who am I kidding... give me the Incredible NOW!!!

I JUST now signed up to get updates from VZW. According to my VZW manager pal, I am in the category that Verizon wants their business from the MOST - that being I am not currently a Verizon customer, and I am available to sign up with them (or any competing carrier) RIGHT NOW. Here's the reply that I received from them:

"Now plan on being the first to know about new & exciting products and services by providing us with your email information. Thank you for selecting to get email updates from Verizon Wireless."

Yeah, I realize it's a cookie-cutter reply, but the fact that I am basically a valued, unsigned free agent with options (albeit limited here in Montana), I'd expect them to pursue my category of potential customers the hardest. Just sayin'.... :)

So your agreeing im a troll. How in any way am I ? I was just expressing my opinion. Im on Verizon and I dont ever plan on switch to At@t or get an iPhone. I hate Apple and its way of business. The iPhone OS= Shit to me. If anyone read my post correctly they would have found out I said similar spec. I didn't say I want the iPhone. I dont see a problem with wanting something I want. I dont feel like spending allot of money and then having buyer remorse cause something just came out with what I was looking for. Ive read this forum from day one. Id have to be crazy staying here for this long to be a troll. Dont compare me to radio.

The announcement won't happen during the draft. They might run their first ads during the draft, but it would be announced through a press release, or a press conference.
