Chinese Phone/Tablet

I don't have any experience with these models, but I've been around here long enough to see the general opinions of these off brand China made devices. The spec looks good, too good for the price. The build quality will likely be poor. Performance rarely equals the spec. The software will be a rushed concoction of Android filled with many bugs. There will be virtually no support and no chance of bug fixes or upgrades. Rooting and dev involvement will be minimal to none. This is painting a pretty wide swath and not every generic Chinese made device may be this way, but my experience is most are.

We've even seen some of the sellers of these instruct complaining customers that this site (and I'm sure other tech forums/sites) is the official support site for their product....It's not!

I've seen members who are happy with their purchase, but they are few. Most seem to regret the purchase.

Thanks for your thoughts
I'm gonna do some more research on some of these Tablets, there are a few user video reviews floating around the interweb.
I know some people who have purchased from this site & the general consensus is pretty good.. free worldwide delivery, easy to get replacements/refunds etc.

The only advice I can give is to do your homework. Don't believe the happy customer testimonials on any seller or mfg website, they are easily game-able. There are bargains to be had out there and I wish you luck finding one. The only direct experience I've had with this genre is with a friend who bought an early "superpad". It was never stable and often really slow. After several weeks of frustrating use, it was given to the 5yr old in the family. It's probably at the bottom of his toy box by now, I haven't seen it in months.

FWIW, I really like my Nexus 7!!!

Can I just say as a far from an expert on these things, I purchased a black Star N9770 from Dracotek in China a couple of months ago.I was persuaded by the positive reviews on Amazon.uk. I am very happy with my purchase at around
