Two part question about sound files

(1) I downloaded the "droid" sound effect from soundfx onto my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 and can now use it as a ring tone but it will not allow me to use it as a notification tone. How can I use it for notification and not ringtone?

(2) If I can not do it where can i download the "droid" sound effect and use it as a notification for like texts and Facebook/twitter?

There are several free apps in Play Store which include that sound.. I got mine from Zedge, but there are many, and they include the menu selections to assign the sound to notifications, etc.
