Bye Bye Spectrum

It has eaten three Sim cards since I started using CM versions (starting with tdm's beta cm10) my local Verizon store manager got tired of seeing me and offered me a Droid RAZR HD to go away :) so I took it. Coming in the mail tomorrow or Saturday.

No contract extension, but I have to ship the Spectrum back. Maybe I got lucky, the employee that was helping me used to have a spectrum and had almost every problem ever reported on this forum.

I'm sure most of you won't miss me, but either way I'll keep the files I have mirrored on my website at least until the end of this year, if not until the end of next year.

Thanks again to mtmichaelson without whom we may never have gotten anything but root for our phone, playfulGod, death2all, and tdm for everything they did to get the Spectrum going again after the ICS leak bricking days. Mr.B for getting us developers, IMU for being willing to test anything, and everyone else for making this a great Community. (if I missed anyone who thinks I should have specifically mentioned them, sorry, my memory sucks)

thanks for the site! take care man.

Sadly my spectrum LCD stopped working. (Lit up but nothing else, just black with colored lines. No LG screen, no download screen.) Verizon was going to replace it with another spectrum but they have none in stock. I didn't know this until I got my HTC rezound in the mail with no battery :O

This was the best community for customization for android that I know of (as my devices state I had an X2 and Inc before the spectrum and this community had more support).

Sad to go, but I have to move on. Thank you all for the best experience with this phone ;) I will still lurk here and help when I can.

Yea, I don't see this as a long-term device, unlike some others. I'll probably get a new Motorola or something off eBay. Devs deserve some serious props for what they accomplished with such a stubborn device.

You lucky dog.
Had I known that there were first time rookie people on the Spec site I would have never released the info about the first ICS build, I just thought that anyone with a smart phone already knew the risk of flashing ROMs and how to cope with them.
Never again!

Good luck.
