Root [ROM] Quattrimus JB (CM10.1, AOKP42)

I'm on cm10.1 b4. Has there been any more updates? I thought you could get updates through cm update in settings but there is never any new updates.

There is official cm support now. Go to get.cm and select device vs920.

There is also AOKP support starting with build5.

So this ROM is pretty much at a dead end.

Does anyone know if the updates from cm fix the screen delay when unlocking? It also takes a while for the screen to come back on during a call using the dial pad ex. Voicemail.

That is fixed in official CM. Personally, I think it was something to do with some differences in the kernels.

The screen delay after a call can also be changed with build.prop tweaks. The exact tweaks would be :

[HIGH]ro.lge.proximity.delay=25
mot.proximity.delay=25
[/HIGH]

which basically sets it to turn the screen back on after 25ms of proximity change, if I understand it.

If you're uncomfortable manually editing build.prop these are some of the tweaks added by apps like pimp my rom.

I only see a nightly for this phone. Nothing under stable..?

I'm still on 10.1 beta4

Booted fine. Seems to be good but I don't really have time to put to the test until the weekend. Definitely worth someone checking out tho... I just need my texts and emails working for now, no time to re-setup.

Hey TDM...i forgot to say thanks for not forgetting about us here :) Well, the first time I flashed, i forgot to flash gapps so I had constant FC's ...not sure why lol. So be sure to do that and you'll be good to go. First boot took me maybe 2 minutes, and activation was a matter of seconds...The options to customize everything is so nice, runs smooth for the few minutes ive been on it. I am able to send/receive texts, browser/data work..havent had a chance to try much else, but will let u know when I do.

I just wanted to check it out. I didn't really want to like it, because it's a small project that could easily dry up and to a lesser extent that it's a mix of different projects. But I got a wild hair and it compiled and ran on the first try. :p

I have to say it's pretty sexy. I think it's the phablet ui in the pa part that I really like... I have grown weary of fighting LCD density issues so that I can see more stuff on this nice screen.

Works good so far...kinda looks like a tablet. So what's this rom? I've never heard of it before. Isn't it basically cm10 with aokp and paranoid android parts?

Oh and it seems gapps are built into this ROM.I didn't have to flash them and they were there.

PAC ROM combines features from:

Paranoid Android
AOKP
CyanogenMOD

gapps is not built into the ROM. There's an addon script that triggers when you install certain ROMs which saves gapps before install and restores after. The install script for CM and its derivatives have this. AOKP does not, but apparently it's outvoted by the P and C in this ROM, lol. :p

Yea it seems to have the best of both ROMs and pa included. So far so good...you going to keep deving it?

I may give it a shot for the last few days I'll be using my Spec. I've been wanting to try a PAC rom but couldn't find one stable enough for other devices I've used and didn't have the knowledge to try and build it for the Spec.

I don't know. If there's demand I'll probably keep building it.

The thing that has turned me off to PA in the past was the fact that their preferences app is closed source. But now that I've tried it, I really do like it.

I'm not sure just how much PAC brings to the table over and above PA for other users. But it's hard to judge that without a pure PA to compare with, lol.

Honestly, I love it. I get better scree response and I don't have to mess with my dpi to make it look good. The battery was shit, but I spent 2 hours setting it up, so I expected that. I'd love to see it continued, since it has the best of all 3 roms / tweaks.

Battery drain seems slightly worse compared to cm10. I did wipe battery stats before flashing and have tried to optimize settings. This Rom runs great so far....No reboots, no screen flicker, touch screen seems more responsive. Has anyone tried usbdebugging yet? Hope you continue to tweak this TDM but honestly it seems pretty damn stable and functional.

Working great so far, I like how it combines some of the best features of CM and AOKP. Is there a way to turn off the on screen navigation buttons?

Figured it out, it's under Paranoid Android settings, navigation bar size.

Thread hijack...

Anyone want to try PAC-ROM?

This source tree built and ran on my P930. I haven't tried booting it on my VS920 yet because I don't have it with me. So make a backup first!
