Ok guys... hear me out OK?

RE: Pre-Ordering via BestBuy on the 18th. Who cares?

What does this buy you? Nothing. You preorder the phone on the 18th, you can go pick it up at 10am on the 29th, it's guaranteed, cool. The only benefits you get with BestBuy is that you do not have to mail in a rebate (that may be good enough reason for some of you).

RE: Pre-Ordering via Verizon.

This is the way to go for folks who aren't in a "rush" to get it, you pre-order, it comes to your door some time on the 29th. Could be 6pm or 7pm, or could be 8am. Maybe your un out to pick up some milk and they attempt to deliver it to you but you arent there to sign it. Now you have to wait ANOTHER day! haha. Bottom line is that people who are in this thread do not want to wait that long to get their hands on this baby. Other than that...what if your spanking new, shiny phone has a dead-pixel, or a loose battery? You have to work thru Verizon online to sort that out, new shipments may be delayed, it could take you a few weeks before you have your pristine new Incredible. Pass.

RE: Getting the phone as SOON as it's available!

Personally, I want this phone the second it is released. This means you do NOT pre-order the device from anywhere, BB or Verizon. Due to the minimal advertising related to this phone, it's not going to be as popular as the BlackBerry Storm was on release date or something hyped as much as that. The Droid was hyped to all hell, I didn't even originally want it...went to Verizon around 6pm to check it out the day it was released and picked it up, they had PLENTY in stock.

So, head to your local Verizon, or Kiosk about an hour early (to make sure you beat the few gadget freaks you might be competing with). Pick up the phone as soon as the doors open, examine your phone...if there is any issues, dead pixel, loose screen, etc...ask for another. (let's be honest, there will be many threads with day 1 issues, do you want to be one of those upset that their phone isn't all they dreamed of) Then, head home happy that you were the first to get the Incredible and spend the rest of the day in dorky, gadgety bliss modifying each setting and tooling around with the coolest phone Verizon ever saw.

Lastly, you always have the option of trying to find the phone before the street date, if you pre-order, that is not a possibility. Ya never know if this thing leaks a few days early, not pre-ordering lets you have the ability to get this ahead of time!

This is my thought process regarding purchasing your Incredible, take it for what it's worth. Bottom line is that I will have mine 8:03am on the 29th. (or sooner).

So is it confirmed to have both 8GB internal storage, and include an 8GB microSD card? In the launch package it says 8GB microSD included, and anon bet his wife, and his 5k sq ft house that it has internal 8GB.....

I read it to say that it had 8gb internal storage and "optional" up to 16gb external storage....to me, that means it does not include and external card....but you can optionally buy one.

My wife just shot down any plans of me going to the a BBM in the Chicago vicinity (4 hours away). Something about hers and her brother's birthdays or something. I tried to explain how Incredible this phone would be, but I don't think she understands. She just got an Eris and says I should just get one of those.

Women you can't live with them... they can't pee standing up

hey hey! sorry to be annoying but it seems like I'm that nerdy invisible kid at the back of the room .....can someone answer my question from the previous page?
I'm assuming your refering to your question about using a wireless headset for the FM radio.

You will need a WIRED headset as it acts as the antenna.

You're kidding right? I mean, while extremely cool SOUNDING, what is the practical application? For any kind of TV out for that matter.

"Wow, awesome play, bet I can get the replay on my phone...let me just open up my man-purse and whip out my 42" plasma screen during this here 7th inning stretch"

To each their own, but this is just plain gimmic-y, wishful thinking on so many levels.

I travel a ton, so I think this would be a great feature to have. Being able to sit back and watch a movie on the hotel tv would be nice.

Is the bolded part even true? Apparently the consensus is that this isn't true

This is where I'm at...Do I want to pre-order with VerizonWireless.com, Best Buy or just wait it out until the stores have it on the 29th...The simple fact that Verizon can't have their retail stores deal with hardware issues from the .com site is truly unacceptable customer service. Numerous other corporations look at the web site just as they do a retail store and will be glad to replace in store rather than mailing it back.

As of now, there is no way to store apps on one's memory card (except rooting and using app2sd). Google has said they're working on addressing this issue, and it should be available as an update. They haven't given an ETA. We don't know how much of the 8GB is available for apps. Some have speculated only 1GB will be available.

On my BlackBerry, I prefer Slacker. Station caching is great (saves battery, great for subway use). They also have a better/more modern selection of songs, in my opinion.

So, then that is what the almost 1GB of phone storage is for.

I saw that the caching feature is a trial version and I am guessing you have to pay for it after the trial.

I hope you are right....its crazy how poorly the copywriters do in wording things.

From my understanding you can return your phone to a Verizon store if you buy it online. Maybe the first 30 days you cannot but after that the Verizon store takes over.

I doubt there will be any dead pixels. Does not happen that much anymore.

Here is a link to a coupon for Reward Zone members. It says you save 10% on accessories (maybe there will be some), and you get 500 reward points with the purchase of any Android phone. It expires on the 19th so go for it on the 18th.

Can we get a firm yes or no answer on 720P?
The leaked ROM from a week or two back seemed to indicate yes, but if so, nobody is saying it. The silence is deafening! And if no, what IS the resolution for video capture?

yes ...oooh found what I'm looking for ...something like this

FM Antenna - Listen to u'r Phone Radio without Earphones <- Nokia FM Arial antenna ....my friend works for Nokia so I'm asking him right now if he has an extra one for me ;) or if it will even be compatible - looks like 2.5mm jack

Is anyone else debating weather to get this phone or the EVO

Yeah, me. I've been trying out Sprint's test-drive offer for a week and a half w/ the Hero and it's been great everywhere I've gone. Couple that w/ a much better plan price and EVO's release, and I'm leaning toward Sprint. Of course, I'm prudent, so I want to see what the EVO will cost and if the plan will be higher.

Plus, it's worth waiting on reviews from Engadget and such for each handset. I've waited for well over a year... I can wait another couple weeks to get exactly what I want.

The first 30 days are the most important, that's what bothers me. If its good to go after 30 days your generally going to be in the clear.

you are right and it can also be in the first 30 days. I bought my eris online from Verizon.com and was having some issues with the battery not holding a charge and the keyboard seemed sluggish. I called Verizon.com and they said to send it back...OR.....drop it at a Verizon store and they would replace it for free. I did not ask them if it had to be a Verizon store only and not a Verizon authorized store....but the fact is you can at least take it back to a Verizon store.

Just like someone else said:

If you order online, you can take to to a retail store to deal with issues.

I have oredered EVERY phone I have had through VerizonWireless.com. When my LG Chocolate screen died, I took it to the store and they replaced it for free. When the touch stopped working on my LG Dare, I took it to a retail store and they replaced it for free.

I just don't know if I want to order online this time because I can't skip work like I could skip class in college.
