Root [Verizon] Google Wallet "unsupported device"

The other day I installed Wallet using WalletInstaller3.APK). Worked like a charm. (And I did not mess with Build.Prop as that is beyond my confidence/skill level).

Today Wallet upgraded via Play Store and now the apps tells me that (duh) I've got a rooted phone and the Google Gods are frowning. (But the app still appears to work).

I haven't tried to buy anything with the new version but I'm curious if anyone has seen this warning and had any issues with actual functionality.

Galaxy S3, Verizon, Synergy Rom V443)

I wish I could answer your question, but I don't use that apk (something got borked awhile ago and it won't work on my device) but I did hear talk about updating the PlayStore:

Have you restored your build.prop via the walletinstaller.apk? --just curious. :)

That looks like the same APK.

No, I did not restore build.prop

Everything seems to be working so I left well enough alone. If anything odd occurs I'll delve into that programming mystery.
 
This does raise a question:

If the phone is working (which it is) why would I need to restore build.prop?

During the installation/setup process the application presented a button that seems to do that. Need I? Should I?

The only issue I would see, is now the PlayStore probably recognizes your device as a Nexus. It would then think some apps would work with your "Nexus" when in reality, it will not because you have an S3.
It would also not, perhaps, auto update apps for the S3?

Hmm, good point.

So I reran the Installer and hit the "restore build.prop" button and neither did the world end nor my phone brick.

Seems to work fine.

Thanks for that tip.
