no, your store=fail. honestly thats the first time i've heard anything like that. from all the accounts i read, there were like 2 or 3 people at stores when they opened max, and considering most of them had like 15+ phones, nobody had a problem getting one. oh well, your loss.

Haha I was joking, I know my store=fail. It wasn't a Coroprate, so they got less shipped to them.

so if I preorder online with verizon do they do the instant rebate or is going through best buy the only way to get the instant rebate? I would rather just do it with verizon but I would rather just drop $200 on this phone rather than $300 and wait for a rebate...money is a little tight right now.

if you preorder it online can you get it insured at a verizon store or can you do it online?
and if you can do it online can you take it to a store to get it fixed/replaced or do you have to send it back?

Anyone know if the Incredible has the same type of glass as the droid has? Isn't it called gorilla glass or something? If so, seems like it should be fairly scratch resistant by itself.

The Incredible will NOT have the Gorilla Glass as found on the Droid, but it will be extremely scratch-resistant, nonetheless.

they don't make a full cover Zagg invisible shield? will everyone just put a case over the Zagg shield they buy to cover the screen?

The full cover probably won't come out till after launch when they get their hands on one to play with the Inc. has a fairly complicated back panel.

If you buy it from Verizon online, you get instant rebate, just like at BB.

EDIT: You can buy insurance online with Verizon or take it in to the store. You also go in-stpre for any problems you may have with the deivce, or replacement.

If you guys are going to order the invisibleSHIELd from the Zagg website, click on the "Free iPad" on the lower right corner. They'll give you a 50% off code and will give you free shipping, at least with the cheapest shipping option. That's what I chose.

EDIT: It showed that the shipping was free when I checked out but the just sent me the order confirmation email and they charged the $2.99 shipping. Well, at least it the 50% code saved me $7.50

If I remember, both Sacramento, CA stores were sold out of the couple dozen Droids they each had within a few hours of opening at 7am on Nov. 6th.

yeah, I assume it is going to be the same as the n1. there are videos of how scratch resistant that screen is and it's pretty impressive.

I was on the phone with Verizon an hour ago, and they told me the preorder online sends it directly to your house, not a VZW store to pick up. You don't have to wait in line.

I was told something different yesterday when I called. I am going to be at a resort in Maui from April 24- May 1. The rep I spoke with said that you can put in a shipping address that is different than your billing address. My plan is to enter the resort address and have them notify me when the package arrives.

FYI- My personal assistant gets my mail and packages at the office. I do not get mail or packages at any of my houses. I sure hope that the Verizon rep I spoke with was correct that would send this to the address that is entered when ordering.

Unlike the LG DARE? Man, that thing scratches EASILY. I'm looking at it now-- scratches everywhere. After I cut my fingernails, there are new, deeper scratches like clockwork...
The iTouch too..

My husband also got the offer to upgrade early to a smartphone. He is not interested; he's one of those people who'll keep his phone until it falls apart. He is grandfathered in on an America's Choice plan with a Motorola Adventure; does anyone know if he got the Incredible to later switch over to me (we can't do alternate upgrade because we have separate accounts) if he would have to migrate from his AC plan?

That's what they told me when I went in to get the Droid I had at one time but after questioning it I walked out with the Droid. I have the same AC plan now with BB that I had at time of Droid. Might be more of a problem online because when you go to upgrade it will say "compatible with your plan" if it is. I'm worried too but I was told on the phone it won't be a problem, which of course means nothing until tried.

I walked into my local Verizon store at noon DROID launch day. They had sold out in 15 minutes. You=Fail.

Yep, just another example of a guy who doesn't know what he's talking about, spewing incorrect info that can mislead others in the forums. Many, many stores sold out of the Droid on day one, very quickly.

Yes! You can go to your MyAccount on 'verizonwireless.com' and activate a phone by entering the 'ESN' (behind the battery)... You can just switch phones doing that. I heard you have to wait 24 hours after buying a phone to switch it though... Hope this helps!! :D

The closest Verizon store is an hour and a half away. I would be getting it online anyway. This is nice because I will get it on the 29th, not the 30th. Plus no rebates to send in.

I always find it odd to hear this. I live in a relatively small town/area and we literally went from having no verizon stores one year to having no less than 3.
