Root Can't reinstall Maps

Do you still have the maps app in the /system/app folder?
If you do then you just gotta reinstall from there, pull it out of there, reboot, put it back in, set permisions, reboot.
That should build up you maps data all over again.

I thought first this didn't work but when I went to the Play Market and searched for Google Maps it told me that I needed to update it. Once I did that I found it again on my phone. Not sure if first or second suggestion helped. Thanks alot.

My query is a bit different in that I have nt removed Google Maps. I have a peculiar query, I use a Galaxy Ace which is rooted & I use Link2SD. I wanted to know if its possible to reinstall Google Maps from Google Play even though I still have Google Maps on my phone, which I have not removed as its not recommended. My reason for doing this jiggery pokery is the hope that Maps will install/update on the ext partition of the SD card as that’s the setting in Link2SD. Has any tried this if yes what are the pros & cons. Also is it advisable to try this
