I'm kind of curious to know this as well.

No one will know the answer until VZW opens up the gates for pre-orders. Just wait a few more hours and you'll find out, and don't worry, you'll have plenty of time. Ordering at 12:01:001 EST won't get you the phone any quicker ;)

I hope it's based on where you're located....so us in the eastern time zone will be able to pre-order before everyone else!

I will be pre-order #1!!!!

Does anybody know whether we will have to pay at the time of the pre-order, or whether it will just get tacked on to our next bill? I have never pre-ordered a phone before. Anybody ever have from vzw?

aren't you usually charged when the item ships?

I know it's just my opinion but I cant stand the rubbery feel of the Invisible Shield screen protectors. I used a friends Droid who had one and your finger sticks to it like crazy. I also don't like having to spray it down to work.

I'm hoping that the Steinheil Crystal protectors are as glass-like as everyone says they are. I've also heard they are more print resistant that most crystal protectors.

Oh yeah, and that they actually make one for the Incredible!

They do? I couldn't find one for the Inc on theoir site today. Can you please post a link? Also, when you say prints do you mean fingerprints? I have trouble with those on my invisible shield.

Has anyone heard of the one year contract price for the incredible? If you are over a year into your contract verizon sometimes allows you to renew your contract for one year at the one year contract price. Also are the online instant rebates the same for both one and two year renewals?

Watching TV to pass the hours. Watching "Celebrity Apprentice," noticed a new PALM commercial. You can really tell their fired their old ad company and hired a new one. The new commercial is leaps and bounds better than some weird woman in white zen crap!

Just found a new love in Dexter. That show is awesome. Cruising through season 2 at the moment waiting for 12:01 to hit.

Argh.... a new (I believe) NE2 problem/question:

About 3 weeks ago, I switched the primary line on our family plan (for reasons having nothing to do with the pending Incredible order). When I went to look at pricing on MyVerizon, I noticed there was no NE2 showing up. I called 611 and a helpful rep told me that when you change the primary line, the NE2 (which had been there) doesn't kick back in for 90 days. ( Geez, I wish they would have mentioned that when I switched; I definitely would have held off).

Soooo... after doing some digging, she said that she couldn't offer me the NE2 discount on the D.I. until its release day, i.e., the 29th. She then told me it would be two-day shipping, so with the weekend I wouldn't see it until the following week. When I told her the pre-order info guaranteed delivery on the 29th if ordered up to the 28th, she said she'd provide overnight shipping so I'd get it on the 30th.

OK, I wasn't thrilled by this but figured I could wait the extra day (after 3 months of waiting) since it is a $100 NE2. But then I got to wondering:

  • If the Rep orders it for me on the 29th, do I still get the $100 on-line rebate?
  • If so, will that rebate be deducted from the price or would it be a mail-in rebate?
I called back and got a different rep who was polite but clueless ("We don't even know what the price will be yet.") Any thoughts/suggestions on how I can 1) get my NE2 discount, 2) avoid dealing with a mail-in rebate, and 3) maybe still get My Precious on the 29th?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the longish note.

P.S. The first rep mentioned that she had tried ordering the D.I. early herself and found that VZ had set the price on their system to $99,000 to discourage such early orders.;)

I was wondering that as well. I have never seen an option for being billed for online purchases on my next statement, they have always required a CC. I am kind of expecting that I will have to submit payment info for a pre order, but that will just be an authorization for billing on the card, it probably won't actually post until it ships.

Either way, don't care, I'll pay just to be certain I'll have the phone ASAP.
