Help Sim Card Not Working

Today my mom brought a phone called Sony Xperia L for my dad. Everyone in my family's sim card worked except my father. The phone detected my father sim card and ask for its pin code. After pin code accepted there's no signal in the bar and no service. Even I when to settings, select the service provider and registered its still not working.

Please let me know whether is the phone or the sim card has problem?

Try turning the phone off, then removing the sim card and battery (if the battery is accessible) as well as the sd card if one is installed.

Then put the battery and cards back in and power up to test for functionality. If still no signal, do a factory data reset from the main Settings menu.

If that does not resolve the issue, you may have a defective SIM card in need of replacement.
