Shame so few lifts / elevators have close door buttons - I like that!

Actually, on second thoughts, probably just as well they don't or, on the rare occassions I use lifts, I'd probably end up waiting for ever!

Why do so few elevators have close door buttons? That's really weird.
 
I don't know, but you rarely see them in the UK. Kind of annoying as it means you just have to wait for the doors to decide to close.

I thought that it is a law to have door close buttons because firefighters, police and other emergency units may need it :confused:

Anyway, that was quite interesting. I seldom go on holidays so that was just something interesting for me :D

Nope - nothing like that here.

That may because it's standard advice here not to use lifts in fires and the like in case you get stuck in them.

Fortunately, we don't have too many really tall buildings, coz good luck if you have a fire on the 31st story! :eek:

Haha. Btw, I think pressing the open door button after pressing the floor button would close the door. Not sure whether that works or not, but the apartment old lifts does :D
