Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] What should/can I do with my SD card??

So a few mins ago i was using my phone and it said sd cared removed... First thing I did was check storage and it wasnt mounted or detected. Then I tried it in my computer and not recognizing either, tried it in my old phone and same thing. I googled it and it seemed that many people were having the same trouble but no one had a clear answer to what should be done. Most say to just get a new one and thats what I plan on doing. I just wanted to know if I can do anything with it. If it helps its a SanDisk 32GB micro SDHC.

I had the same thing happen twice now. First thing to do is to verify that the card is dead put it into another phone to see if it can be mounted. If you have an adapter put it into computer to see if you can access it. If it is dead contact where you bought it or contact the maker of the card. They will send you a rma (return merchandise authorization) send it to them they test it and then send you a new one. If it is still under warranty. Good luck with it I am currently waiting for my third card in less then six months.

Thanks ill try that out tomorrow. I only had this one roughly roughly 4 months, man this is a real pain I had so much stuff on that card. Pics, music, docs all that. Im sorry to hear your loss also if this thing is truly dead ill try the sandisk ultra. I really have to back up all my stuff to my computer next time

very good thread. people should be aware of such situations like this. and i agree try to get a refund/exchange. there are a few brands that have been marked as brands to watch out for. mikey has a sd card that just erased it self like 2 months ago and only 4 gb was visible to the phone..... i dont brag about brands or pricing but after nuttmeg got his sandisk 64 ultra sd card i bought one too from amazon and i have to tell ya its been flawless ive never had any issue with it. sometimes some brands live up to its reputation. if ur going to make a invesment that includes pictures ,music memories that cant be recovered, do all u can to get a trustworthy brand. these chinese knockoffs are garbage sometimes they are pretty decent. But it surprises me that your sandisk sd card has an issue. i would email the manufacture and let them know the situation im sure they could send u another one.

Exactly what I'm thinking thats why I went with SanDisk in the first place because my other SDs have been SanDisk but 4 and 8GBs. And with rooting and the Galaxy you can do so much more so I didnt mind spending the extra money to get it. Ill try emailing/contacting them now.

i bought a samsung microsd a year ago and never looked back, blazingly fast and fairly cheap.

dang man i didnt receive a new card from sandisk yet i bought a new one anyways and was planning on keeping the one they send for spare or using it on another device. i ended up buying the sandisk ultra because bestbuy and tiger direct didnt have any regular ones in stock and i didnt want to wait for one to be shipped. so i went to tiger direct the 32gb ultra was tagged at 50 (bestbuy was 70) after they pulled up my address i paid 42.xx. the ultra card doesnt really make a difference in the S3 because the S3 reads up to class 4 but i had no choice. so far its been like 3 weeks and its running fine. sorry for the long reply hopefully everything end well

i thought i put "as to what i heard" after that, im on my xbox right now and internet explorer can use some updates but its overall good. i thought that was bs becuase when i did test it with the sandisk storage memory app it ranges but the highest i got was 19 lowest was aroudn 13 14
