Google Music Service

What are your thoughts of the Google Music service for $8.00 a month? I registered the day it came out, and been using it about everyday so for, and I like it, but I find it really repetive in playing the same songs over and over, more than what Pandora will, and that may be the reason that I may unsubscribe to it. I like the features as to listening to every song on my mind any time. What are your thoughts on the service so far?

I just signed up a few days ago and I'm liking it so far. I have noticed the frequent repetition but maybe that will get better with time.

I'm loving it so far. I have been using it more to play albums and songs rather than the radio feature. I have also been cacheing music to my device, too. That's what I like about it. It's cheaper than buying a CD a month.

I've been using it for 3 weeks now. Today I cancelled it and went back to Spotify. It was okay, but there are a few things I like better about Spotify. The Google Play Music app seems busy and disorganized. The radio stations seem to repeat a LOT, (as has been mentioned), and the selection isn't as good. I also had more streaming problems with Play than I do with Spotify. So, while I liked the idea of having all of my entertainment in the same ecosystem, for now I am staying with Spotify. I will watch to see what improvements are made, and perhaps give it another shot in the future.

Any other comparisons to spotify? I've been curious about it myself.. how good is their selection? Spotify use to be terrible, but now it is decent

I gave it a try for almost three weeks--and was so underwhelmed by it, I practically forgot about it. Compared to Rhapsody, it's very primitive. I decided to cancel for now, thinking that somewhere down the road--when it's had a chance to mature and improve as far as its features--I'll give it a whirl again. FWIW, I use Rhapsody--and tried to use Google's music service the same way--for listening to albums and tracks, not radio stations. I listen to my favorite radio stations...via the radio stations! :D

We've been Rhapsody subscribers ever since it bought out Napster. Thank god their UI was overhauled since Napster's mobile app looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.
Honestly, I think the depth of Rhapsody's selection trumps Google's. I went through some pretty obscure, indie bands I like to see who had more. Rhapsody generally won, but I was impressed with Google.
The rules are the same, only one device can use the account at one time, and I believe both only allow 5 sync'd devices to use the service. So between our phones, tablets and laptops, it can get tight. But it's easy enough to disable one and re-enable it. :)
Rhapsody is ~$15 a month for all you can eat. I don't believe there's any offline support though so keep that in mind.
Overall, I think both are great. I'm still using Google for now and the wife uses Rhapsody.

"The Google Play music player is currently available in United States."

Not a lot. RIAA restrictions I guess.

I tend to keep most of my music on a couple of SD cards and USB sticks, so therefore it's always available to me.

My question is I have $10 in my Google Play Store. Will All Access take $8 from that or will I be charged on my bank card instead?

UPDATE: It takes from my bank card not my Play store balance

I use it to play the music that's synced from my home computers into Google Play so that I can play any of my songs while I'm driving. Haven't used the streaming music function yet.

Pros:

1)easy access to all my music from all my computers
2) reliable (in my experience) playback, even in areas where my phone doesn't get good reception.

Cons:

1)artists, albums and genres are displayed in boxes. large boxes. Not in a list like many programs. so it takes forever to scroll down to get to what you want.

2) I have had problems with my computer's Google Play download application not automatically syncing my music and the syncing process can be confusing to set up/manage.

3) fonts WAY too small, and the grey font color on a freaking grey background doesn't help. ugh.

Verdict: switching back to using Spotify
