i dont want the google search bar at the top of all my home screens. Is there a way to get rid of it? It wont let me drag it to the trash.

On most stock AOSP based devices, which yours is, the search bar is usually anchored and cannot be removed. However, I do not have experience with your stock launcher personally, so maybe someone can chime in with a way to get rid of it.

You will get the option with a launcher like nova or apex, however.

thanks, i wanted to stay with stock launcher for now but the more i find out the more it looks like the only solution.

The advantage of a custom launcher is they provide much more options when it comes to customization. Plus, since your device's stock OS is based on vanilla android, you will still have a cohesive user experience after you install a custom launcher :)

You can disable Google search in your app settings. Then the search bar will disappear. But you then lose the search options.

Go to settings/apps/and scroll to the right to All. Then scroll down to Google search.
