Help My samsung galaxy ace won't charge

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I dropped my phone in shower gel by accident. I noticed almost straight away and cleaned off them buried in rice with the battery separated and cover off. The phone worked fine, but when I tried putting on charge it won't take. It's not the charger as I have two and they work fine on my partners phone. I have insurance but it has a

I know it sounds obvious but if the phone and charger work fine have you tried replacing the battery? Only a few quid on Ebay. Worth a shot.

thanks guys, my partners mother has the same phone so i'll try her battery. if it still doesn't work i'll claim on the insurance.
