Help New Android update destroyed my SD card and the MTP

Hey Guys, I have the Galaxy S3 International edition, which is the (GT-I9300) and just today I received the new android update. I know you guys did too. When it was SUCCESSFULLY updated, it was kinda slow to start, but it worked fine. After it was done booting. I opened the images and I found all the music, photos, and videos of the SD card has been erased. When I checked the SD card in the settings it says TOTAL Memory: 7.8MB.. How is that possible I have 16G! How did 16G turn to only 7.8MB...*

I said OK, let me do a recover and try to fix this. When I put the S3 on the computer. It says driver failed. Both my computers cannot find the MTP of the phone. What did this new update do?.. It completely killed my phone.

Pease help me, I want all my erased stuff back and most important the 16G back on the SD card.

Is anyone else having this Problem?

Sorry, no -- not having this problem.

But, I HAVE had SD card problems, with several cards, and the sooner you stop using the card, the better.

What might work is inserting the card into a reader attached to a Windows PC, and then using a data recovery app to extract the files that are not damaged.

A free app is Recuva -- but I have not used it.

Paid apps include RecoverMyFiles from Runtime Software -- which is one of the best.. You can download, install, and run their app from a Windows PC and at least see how good a job it does of finding the files. You have to purchase a license (done online) to actually recover the files.

I've gone through four different SD cards on three different SG3s -- and the lesson I've learned it to back everything OFF the card that I do not want to lost.
