Help Clear Data/Cache not working Google Maps

Tried everything I know to clear the search history for google maps and nothing is working. Cleared Data/Cache, uninstalled latest updates, etc. Still there. Any help? Thanks.

Yeah, that's odd. I just cleared all data and location history (that's another story, it says I visited the "History of Sex Museum" rather than the restaurant across the street ) and the last 10 searched items are still there. Maybe search can't be cleared.

Although you could do 10 nothing searches to eliminate actual search content.

Hmmm, so not just me huh?

Actually quite annoying. Not that I am going anywhere I shouldn't be, but hate the lack of privacy if someone else uses my phone to search. Has to be a bug? Hopefully they are working on it, its really going to annoy me.

OK, didn't realize it was syncing with google maps on my desktop being signed into my google account. Makes sense.

BUT -- even when I erase map search history (web history) -- and still clear data from apps -- not clearing the searches. Nada.

My question is this. Is this normal for everyone and it just doesn't bother you guys? Or is it some sort of bug unique to my settings? Google search came up with a couple people with this problem, but no fixes. Either doesn't bother people or its not a common bug?

Try turning off all locations temporarily n he location access settings. Also try turning off Google now temporarily as there is a location history access there too. Then clear history and see if that works.

I had been searching for this answer and suddenly figured it out on my phone. Open Maps, click on search, scroll down to 'Personalized with My Places' at the bottom of the entries in search. Scroll to the right to 'Recent'. There you will see a list of searches. Tap and hold the one you want and 3 choices will pop up. One of them is 'Delete'!

I finally found The Solution to clear search history from maps! When you are about to search and you see your previous search results, scroll down to the bottom and choose "Personalized with my places" from there comes new menus where you can see all your previous search and destination results. So just pick one by one and hold until you get a popup menu where you can delete from. I just did it and deleted all search results all that clearing cache and data does not delete your search results.

This doesn't actually clear searches, at least not on my Galaxy S4... It does allow me to clear a few check-ins that were 3 or so years (and two phones and 800 miles away when I lived in another state) ago, but a search I just did is still there in searches. I now have two "Starred" locations, home & work, and everything else on that Personalized with My Places screen says "You have no recent history", yet under search, there they are. Anyone else figure out a way to do this?
