Where do you see Android in 10 years?

Apple would sue. Geez, seems like only yesterday Microsoft was the king of sue sue sue.

Google Glass/reconjet, motorcycle helmet, smart watch, Bluetooth, hello Tony Stark. think Android could power a real life Iron Man armor?

I think in 10 years Android devices will go the way of the Palm Pilots and Pocket PCs. They will no longer be relevant but fondly remembered by gadget enthusiasts. A new phone operating system probably developed by a small group of students in an MIT dorm room will be the new market dominatrix.

android will be in:

-any motor operated vehicle
-accessories like glasses/ watches/ bracelets/ necklaces/rings
-home appliances like aircon, microwave, fridge, lightings

This is a very intriguing question. Android in the next 10 years. I expect phones to turn into chromebooks pretty soon. Android will run on the cloud and we will have only thin clients connecting to the android. Your Android can be connected to anything and everything. Your watch, phone, google glass, music system will connect to your android which will be on the cloud. I see Android heading there. A few companies have already started to make a push their.
Checkout AppSurfer.
They use cloud Android for App Trials. :)

I sure hope not. What happens to all the things we buy in the play store?? I don't want all the books to be gone, along with the music and movies to just be gone. Though there are rumors that Google may close Android in about 3 years, because of the contract that they had with buying Motorola. I do hope they do something really good with it if they decide to close it.
Microsoft is closed source like iOS. iOS is already dying. And MS Windows has been around how long now?

I have to agree, open source seems to be winning. But then again, will we see Ubuntu rise??

Oh I never heard of that rumour, that's very interesting.

there are other app stores besides Play, meaning it's future proof

We got plenty of app stores here  don't recommend them though, unless you are very careful and know what you're doing.

I'm almost certain the future of Android is secure in China, even without Google. Can't see much else happening at the moment. Apple iOS does well, but they're expensive. Windows Phone has been a failure so far here AFAICT. Blackberry seems to be out of the China game completely. There's things like Samsung's Asha, also Meizu does it's own fork of Android called Flyme.

In 10 years, where do you see the Android operating system to be at? do you think it will be on desktop and laptop computers, or do you think it will take to smartphones and tablets. or do you think it will move to new or devices like Google glass or even a smart house? How powerful do you think Android can actually see? where do you see the operating system running?
My last question is do you sync Android will last your lifetime? meaning do you think you will be using Android possibly, for the rest of your life, as more and more updates come to the operating system and all of its the wife. I'm using Android talk to text so I probably have a lot of errors. but typing sucks I'd rather talk to my tablet, it may be weird but I am doing it because its faster really faster holy crap this is going really fast is going at basically the same speed on I'm talking and wow really really fast. really, okay I'm done.

Well apparently Google has a laptop that has Android running alongside Chrome OS on one of their laptops. (May have read wrong)

Android is highly likely to wind up being on laptops and desktops because Ubuntu OS (Both computer and smartphone) are pretty much seamless. (Meaning you can hook up your Ubuntu smartphone to your Ubuntu computer and add those files and whatnot directly to your phone-computer)

The coolest thing Canonical is doing at the moment is developing "Ubuntu TV" Look it up, it's pretty neat. But anyway..

What could I see Android doing in 10 years? Possibly hooking up to your car wirelessly for music and phonecalls. (Not impressive but eh..)

Now what can I see it doing through my lifetime if it stays alive? I could see houses having a tablet built into the walls with complete climate control, lights, tv, music.

I could also see those tablets in the wall being in the shower (waterproof of course!) where you can control water temperature to the exact degree, music inside the shower, control of the showerheads and waterflow, and it would be cool to have LED lights to change the water color for some ambiance as well lights.

Oh and if you could root??

The houses would be "Google Houses"
:p ;)

Windows is eh in America as far as I have seen. Blackberry is pretty much dead here too. iOS is falling behind, but that's Apple's arrogance playing a big role in that. Ever since Steve Jobs died it has gone downhill in my honest opinion.

I'm curious to see how Ubuntu OS for smartphones will do in China though.

When Jobs left Apple the first time, it just about killed them. Now he ain't coming back. Even Wozniak is rocking Android now!

So true. It is a shame in all honesty. I may not be a very big fan of Apple, but it is sad he died. We really did lose an innovative man. I guess could so far to say he was a genius.. may he rest in peace.

As for Wozniak, I know Lol! He realized Apple has became a joke.

"Our iPad will be 20% thinner and lighter. My God gentleman.. we have revolutioned the world and tablets for generations to come."

Give me a break.
