Install in an HDMI port of Receiver

I checked the online support for Chromecast and there is no mention of the ability to install the device in a Receiver/Amplifier. All devices run through my receiver which is my switcher to play all audio and route the appropriate video to my TV. I believe this will be common for many since TV speakers are poor.

Tonight I plan to install the Chromecast into an HDMI port on my receiver to see if it works. If it works this will make use of my Bose speakers and surround setup. Anyone else doing this?

I don't see why not, its what is is supposed to do pass through the signal. I plan on upgrading my receiver one day.

Yes, I hooked it up to my Sony Sound bar receiver and it worked flawlessly.

HOORAY! It works!

I used the extender, plugged the Chromecast into an HDMI port on the back of my Yamaha receiver/amplifier and now the audio uses my Bose surround speakers and video passes through to my TV. It also helped solve my low signal issue because the Chromecast is no longer sandwiched between my TV and the wall.

chomecast works great with my surround sound speakers whether its connect to my Denon receiver or directly to my TV. My receiver has an HDMI back-channel connection with my TV so all HDMI inputs will send the audio outputs thru the receiver.
