Root [Boost Mobile] Found a new ROM

If I'm correct it's a recovery issue. It worked like a charm once I got it unbricked and back in recovery. Jreinks, try the twrp 2.6 on xda. It might just fix your problem.

Edit: I'm gonna drop the TWRP recovery in my dropbox. let me get it loaded.

Here's the recovery I use. Odin it on and then try this rom and it should work for ya bud.

Hello,
I am using CWM Recovery v5.5.0.4. For those of you that have successfully flashed the dandroid rom, what CWM version do you have? Also, I would like to use the TWRP if its working successfully for others, but how can I get the same version CWM if I run into trouble?? I also have numerous BU with this recovery, plus I am given to understand that I have to use the same recovery I used to make the backup to do a restore, is that correct?? How do I go about changinging recoveries, this is uncharted territory for me, never done this before.

I was on TWRP but I think it was something I did that caused the brick. It worked for me after I finally wiped everything and started fresh from nothing. If you format everything and use the twrp I listed above in my dropbox you shouldn't have any problems. I actually talked to some twrp developers on xda and they told me that because the Boost S3 is the same model as the Sprint version that the recoveries for the Sprint version will work fine. I'm wondering if the piggyback will work on other roms such as AOSP or other TW to make data work.

I was on twrp and having issues so I went back to cwm and I'm going to try that piggyback zip with other people roms you may be right

Could you link to the piggyback zip I can't find it
 
I don't see why it wouldn't work on CWM. I did it on TWRP because it's what I have used on most of my devices. It worked for me. I did a complete wipe and then flashed Dandroid(or whatever rom you want to try) and let the phone boot. After it booted and had a minute to sink in I went back into recovery and flashed the piggyback. I can confirm that 4G and wifi work. So far I haven't seen any problems. I'm at the 24 hr mark too.

I usually use twrp too but the one I was on had bugs so I went back to cwm I might reflash twrp it's cooler but Idk kinda scared because of the bugs they usually have but the build your own seems pretty solid on mines the Time was wrong always bug and it kept saying sd ext unknown path
 
I think the time is an hour behind on mine but everything else mounts and seems to be fully functional. Let me know if you have any problems and I'll try to help.
 
Hello all. I would just like to post that data is now working on the dandroid rom I flashed. Also, everything else I have tried works flawlessly, great rom. Below, I will post the exact steps I did in case anyone else is having the same issues.

!. Wipe data, cache partition, and davilik caches x3 in recovery

2. flash dandroid rom, reboot, check data- no data

3. reboot into recovery, flash piggyback, reboot, check data- no data

4. go to settings,-more settings- mobile networks-change network mode to cdma, phone will reboot

5. go to settings, go to system update- update prl, once thats finished, update profile (first time I tried to update profile, it failed, if that happens, try to update again), once both are updated, go back to more settings-mobile networks-change network mode back to cdma/lte, phone will reboot, you should now have data

Just wanted to add that both 3G and 4G work great.

Also, I have been using this rom for almost 2 days now without issues.

Everything but MMS is still a TouchWiz rom but the best I've run yet.haven't had to modify anything to get it working. I use textra for messaging so just manually configured my apn's in the Messaging app and golden

Edit: the rom has been updated to 5.02 so search the thread for the link to it. :screwy:

The funny thing is before you posted this I downloaded the ROM lol but Im making a backup now and getting ready to flash and you used ktoonz kernel and knowing me I'll choose everything asop lol
Not a fan of tw

Yep not a fan of tw at all. I flash literally 4+ roms a week. This one is definitely my favorite tw rom :D
