Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

k thanks for the info, I just thought maybe my phone had problems!

How is it that the droid boots up in a fraction of the time even compared to the galaxy rom???
Is this because of its processor or because its running 2.1
 
I installed the no_twix rom, and everything seems to be working well, but the phone does not seem to be sleeping, or at least sleeping properly. The screen will turn on if I hit either the Cube or Power button, so I'm worried that my battery life is going to suffer again (after I had such amazing battery life with the no_twiz rom). I've rebooted half a dozen times, and it hasn't fixed it.

Aside from that, everything seems to work flawlessly, even the proximity sensor. I haven't noticed a difference in speed with this update, One note on aesthetics, and it doesn't really matter if it ever changes, but I actually liked the circular battery meter as opposed to the standard one. Is there any way for me to change it back?

For everyone wondering about which browser and Mms to use: The browser doesn't really matter, you should download one like Dolphin from the Marketplace anyway for better speed/features, and I installed the stock Mms (Yes, the FC on reboot is supposed to happen) so that I can disable the system notifications so I don't get double notifications from Handcent.

I just installed this ROM and I'm loving it. First installed the Stock 1.6, but I love having more than 3 screens.

Question, how do I get wallpapers to load without looking grainy? If I load one from my photo gallery the resolution is awful, but if I use onr that is preloaded from the ROM it looks great. Any ideas on how to fix it?

If the screen comes on when you hit cube or end key then it is sleeping properly. However, if you hit any other button, the menu key for instance, after 5min of the screen being off then it is not sleeping. A reboot should fix it.

The sent to button in the camera app doesn't work in the no twiz 1.6 rom. If you can't live without it I would switch to the behold 2 factory twiz rom posted in another thread.

Thanks, I thought it wasn't supposed to light up unless you hit the lock button or the end key. In the last version, hitting the cube wouldn't do anything, so I thought my phone wasn't sleeping properly.

If the Phone is Sleeping Correctly....

The phone will not Do anything unless you hit end and the lock button.

To check if sleeping correctly, let the phone sit sit for 5 minutes then hit menu, if the lights come on it's not sleeping..

Display settings > LCD brightness > Automatic > Choose ON

This is turned off, and after turning it on it fixed my issue with it... odd I know?

Thanks for that BH_MAN! I had mentioned this issue in the first release, but this little trick worked. I had automatic on before and it didn't work, but turning off then on again seems to be doing it.

It comes on if I hit the cube, end, or lock, but no others, so it's hard to tell. Battery life isn't bad, but not quite as good as in the no_twiz version.
 
Bhman,did you put HSXPA and CPU scaling hack in this rom?If not could you point us to the location of cpufreq file and after what line do i put "ro.ril.hsxpa=1" on build.prop file?Or it doesn't matter?
 
After flashing to this rom last night my phone seems a little 'slugglish', alot slow than the r8 galaxy rom. Anything I can do or any sugestions?? :(

Is anyone else experiencing slower than the r8 rom?

I assumed Twix was a typo... Because all I can think about is chocolate whenever someone mentions it.

I'm not sure what the Deal might be.... You Might Try doing another ODIN as I'm not having any issue like that from the Twix build
 
Hey, I have re odined twice and restarted, but for some reason i cannot download anything from the market, it says download un successful? Help please
 
Hey BH_Man thanks for all the updates. Can I make one suggestion to the OP?

Please include Mastermind278's How To.

1. Open up Odin Multi Download
2. Under Select OPS, choose Behold2_partition.ops
3. Click PDA, choose T939UVIJ6-PDA-CL81521-REV1.tar.md5
4. Power Off Phone
5. Make sure you have it connected via USB
6. Hold and Press Volume Down, OK, Power (the red end button)
7. Phone will say Download Mode
8. Click Start on Odin Multi Downloader.
9. Wait a couple of minutes
10. Stock Touchwiz phone working again!

I just spent 15 minutes searching around to remind myself on how to put the phone into download mode. If it's not supposed to go into the original post, could we get it stickied?

Just noticed something with the vibrate on the NoTwix rom. Vibrate stopped giving feedback with the swype keyboard. Still works with everything else, just suddenly stopped in swype. Not sure if it's something I did. I noticed it shortly after downloading spare parts, but only to monitor battery usage, and didn't touch any of the other settings. I have since uninstalled and rebooted the phone, still no feedback. ???? anyone else having this problem?
