LG Optimus F3

I'm thinking about getting the LG Optimus F3, but was confused about about the connection type. What does it connect to as far 4G. Is it Metro LTE, T-mobile LTE, HSPA? Just wondering, I'm not sure I'll get it anyways cause my Motion is doing ok for now, but I would like to check out the GSM bandwagon and see if I get better coverage.

Best buy shows it as GSM|UMTS|HSPA+
Phone Scoop shows it as LTE (I assume Tmo since it's GSM)
LG website shows it as 4GLTE AND HSPA+ NETWORK

Also if I get it at Best Buy can I still get the rebate or does it have to be purchased thru Metro. Just don't really want to deal with the authorized dealer crap, like charging the wrong amount of taxes.

SWAEEET! Now I need to figure out how to buy it without the wife finding out. :D So I won't be on Metro whatsoever? I assume that's a good thing.

What about the rebate? Then again I probably will stick with my Motion just cause I'm cheap. :o
 
You can only get the rebate for a new activation, if you're an existing Metro customer changing phones you pay the full $149. I did, but it's still a good deal at that price.
The F3 works on both T-Mo HSPA (their "4G") and LTE where it's available. LTE has priority unless you de-select it in the network settings. No Metro connectivity whatsoever as with all of the new GSM Metro phones.
 
yes I have one myself I had to buy one after damaging my galaxy s3 but im not going to complain after going from the galaxy the battery and tmobile network are THE BEST things so far...

the down side is the low memory and internal space..i can only download like half of what I had on my S3..

I already ordered my digitizer and should be repair my s3...I will suck going back to the slower metro speeds but I will deal with it atleast until the tmobile note 3 is announced..

Why do they do that!!:mad: They give us existing members the shaft by doing that!!:mad::mad:

The battery life sounds great. And my 4G speeds here in BakersHELL average at around 2 Mbps. Just have no idea how Tmo is around here. I'll have to find someone who has it and ask I guess.:rolleyes:

I like sitting on the fence so I can see both sides. Look at it This way. If one had paid much attention here on AF at all, you would have had about 2 YEARS notice before your phone becomes a paperweight. There's been 21 months of Confirmed advance notice. Statistically, from this April until the end of 2014 when CDMA ends, Every Single Metro CDMA Customer would Already get a new phone on their own, no matter what. Why pay the companies money unnecessarily?

Actually, you Shouldn't Want Them to do anything special. That "something special" comes from YOUR payment money that could go towards say an hour of tower tweaking. It makes no bitness sense at all for them to give us squat, we are already firmly attached to the T-Metro teat. It's the people who Aren't Already strung out on dirt cheap service they need to get hooked. THEY are those it makes bitness sense to give a liddle sumpin' sumpin to. EXACTLY the people they ARE giving it to.

A lot of people forget what the deal is here. We're paying about HALF what most people pay for the same usable amount of service. (We're really Top Shelf when you take Metro's liberal amount before throttling into account.) That cost reduction has to come from somewhere. Yes, we don't have the best phone customer service, that's part of it too. Some areas you cut corners maybe where you shouldn't or more than you should. It's unrealistic though to expect to get Every Single Thing someone paying more than 2x what we pay at Verizon gets.

There's been rumblings that there will be "some incentives" around the second half of 2014 to get the stragglers to switch over. THAT'S when it would make bitness sense to do it, not now. I would almost bet money it'll be in the form of rebates for everyone on GSM phones and maybe a sale.
