ODIN Backup for --> BOOST MOBILE SPH-L710_MD7 stock

this is a stock odin backup for SPH-L710_MD7 (stock system-boot-recovery)
data and cache is not backed up so as soon as you can you will have to clear dalvik cache, cache, and data --- or just do a factory reset.

Extract the 7-Zip file
use Odin3 v3.07
put in pda slot only!
uncheck auto reboot
connect your phone
when properly connected (if you dont know -- dont use)
press start
when finished pull battery
enter recovery
factory reset
reboot to system
you know should be stock

.

i noticed i was rooted when making this backup. i was about to make a new one when i though i should leave it so you can reset your flash count after flashing stock (triangle away needs root). so weather you want to keep root or remove root you will have to install SuperSU from the market.
TO REMOVE ROOT:
i suggest running triangle away before you unroot
install SuperSU
Grant root permission
open SuperSU
goto settings
scroll all the way down
press "Full unroot"
after it reboots you will be unrooted

.

ok i have tested the boot and recovery and works fine...
if someone with a good cwm backup would be willing to try the stock system that would be great!!!

if you run into any troubles just reflash cwm and restore your backup... but i dont think there will be a problem this time around :)

thanks good luck

we should now see some significant development start taking place now that there is very little risk of messing the phone up... good luck devs

i re updated the system/recovery/boot.img download link...
i had an edited build.prop and i had 1 frozen system app, now its fixed. now it is completely stock other than root access which can be easily removed by the user.
i left root access in so users can reset their flash count for warranty reasons.

So if I odin this the update will take or is this also the update?

Lol sorry

~~Only dumb question is the one you dont ask!~~

This is DM7 stock (basically, it's what you got out of the box, no updates applied)

I don't see why it would not take the update other than it having root access, which can be removed.

It does look very like stock except for the Boost Mobile Animation missing at boot up and a Sprint animation showing up at shut down.

The update did not work. The phone said there was an update. I told it to go ahead with it, it rebooted and the update went about a quarter of the way and failed. Phone is still fine but the update did not work.

Yes mine does this and no boot animation at startup also when the phone is off and charging the battery charging animation is gone i get like a static screen

Yes mine does this and no boot animation at startup also when the phone is off and charging the battery charging animation is gone i get like a static screen

i just checked my phone... i have boost start up animation... but i also have the static screen when charging with power off...

i will look into what i can when i get home tonight

i flashed both files and followed the instructions but i dont have a boost boot animation...and when i hook it up to Kies i get

Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies
*Current firmware version : PDA:MD7 / PHONE:MD4 / CSC:MD7 (SPR)

also i too have the sprint logo when i power my phone off...

Well my post in the non root section is almost pushed to the second page and has not had any replies...
I hate waiting like I'm sure most of y'all... so I'm going to put a post here in the all things root section to and start off trying to see if the files will work from a rooted phone... but the ultimate goal would be to get the files from a virgin phone.

My phone wouldn't root the way most others phones are rooted... for some reason I can not get cwm ar twrp to work so I hade to flash via odin a sprint unsecure boot.img and then push files to my system... I then took the boot.img from the cwm backup that was posted here and pushed that to my phone... I was/am under the belief that it was stock... but that must be why there are a few issues with the odin images I posted... once I get these files I will fix it...

.

Not from anyone that has used this stock odin
im in need of two stock files from a usa boost mobile phone that has not taken the ota update.
its for an odin backup for our phone.

just type these commands

from terminal emulator:
[HIGH]dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 of=/sdcard/boot.img
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/recovery.img[/HIGH]-- or if you have adb: --
[HIGH]adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 of=/sdcard/boot.img
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 of=/sdcard/recovery.img[/HIGH]this will create two files on your internal sdcard, one called "boot.img" and the other called "recovery.img"

if you can post those files here i would be mighty obliged.
thanks for your help

it will bring you back to "out of the box" MD7, with root access... however at the moment i would advise you to wait before using the because there are minor issues such as: not being able to ota update, an update issue with Kies, a static powered off charge screen, and boot animation...

but if these issues do not bother you and you feel experimental feel free to use it and flash back to MD7 and report back your success. :)

ok so i decided to try this again and it worked this time except for the power off charging static...what i did was did a factory wipe before installing then installed then factory reset again then when it booted i had the boost boot screen and the sprint power down screen was gone...now to figure out the power off static screen and why the update doesnt work and ill be good...
