Facebook Update (23/04/2010)

Hey Guys,

Just to give you heads up - there's new version of FB app on the Market with Inbox this time, but keep away until they'll fix the FC bug as most people (including myself) seem to have it.

It seems that FC's happen on:
  • HTC Hero
  • HTC Desire
  • Nexus One
  • Eris
  • Samsung Moment
  • Cliq

Conclusion: we should have choose Droid ;)

None that I'm aware of. Just wait for an update and until then just use touch.facebook.com - still much better than the native app anyway.

Any way to revert to the older version?

If you've been backing up the apps (with an app such as AppControl, Astro, etc.), then you can just install that last version you had.

I'm on Cliq XT and no FCs.

Yep, I was able to install the prior version with Astro. Always good to have backups! Of course, the prior version wasn't anything to write home about.....

Edit: It does FC on my Hero.

I think you can go to the Market, tap on downloads and you get the facebook app on the list. Tap on the app and you get "uninstall updates" option.

I only see an option to uninstall the app (not the latest update). Are you long pressing on the app name?

I am not long-pressing. The app came with my phone, so I don't think I could completely uninstall it even if I wanted to.

Ah, I guess that is the difference, the app didn't come with my phone, I have a HTC Hero.

It's been working fine on my Nexus One. Not a single FC yet. But I still think that touch.fb is much better.

Can't comment or see comments on photos was my problem with touch.fb.com. Other than that, it was the best solution. This new one is better, but the lack of the same level of notifications from the full/mobile/touch sites sucks. Why can't they auto refresh notifications and alert you if you want? Sucks.
