Help Not getting Twitter notifications

I have the standard Twitter for Android and am not getting any notifications. I have to manually refresh my "@" and see followers, retweets, etc. Does anyone else experience this problem? Does it have anything to do with me running a custom ROM by any chance? **I did do the update for Twitter today (8/28) and it didn't help**

Notifs on the official Twitter app stopped working for me a long time ago. I tried all kinds of things to get them back, but never had any luck.

I'm in the app so much, it doesn't really matter anyway.

Confirm you have notifications turned on:

Open Twitter app / Menu key / Settings / tap you account name at the top / confirm Notifications is checked

If you still are not getting notifications, check the App manager:

Settings / Application manager / All (tab, swipe left twice) / scroll down to Twitter / tap and make sure Show notifications is checked

Both of these should be set on by default.

There seems to be loads of people I know with this problem at the moment so it's not specific to you or the ROM bud. The app was updated yesterday so I guess they've been messing about with it.

I see..well I guess I'll just wait and see with the coming updates if they fix it

This happens quite regularly for me and usually after a new flash.

Make sure sync is turned on, your main data sync.
Go into the app settings and hit the clear data button, that one usually does it for me

I tried all that. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. My fiancé gets her notifications. Same phone as me but she's not rooted. I'm running CM 4.2.2. I cleared out cache and everything and still nothing. This app used to be good but it's now ridiculous. I have to manually go in and get information.
