Google play store South Africa

Hello,

I'm currently on holiday in South Africa with a local simcard(MTN).
I was hoping to be able to browse the South African play store but it's still in my local currency (GBP).

I was under the impressing that using a local simcard and picking up a local 3G/GPS signal would locate my position and alow me to use that country play store

How can I browse the SA play store and not the UK one

I'm going to use wifi mostly as it's provided in the hotel. I only have a crappy 100MB data allowance, and that cost

I believe that the Play store you get is based on your account, but you can create a Google account in Africa, then use Market Helper to connect to Play with that account. No guarantees, but it's free, so try it.

I'm sure you get the Play store for the country you're in, based on the carrier or ISP you're using. I made my Google account in the UK, but get Play for China, which is free apps and games only, nothing else. When I travel I always get Play for the country I happen to be in at the time, UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia and PRC this year. What's available can be very geo-restricted as well, e.g. if I bought/leased/rented DRM'd ebooks from Play in the UK, I wouldn't have access to them in China.

Market Enabler might not even be an option...I get "This app is not available in your country." ...also the device must be rooted.
