Pictures for work. WOW!

I had to take some pictures for work in a hurry so I used the camera on on my G2. Every one of these was taken sitting on a desk in an unlit office with some sunlight coming in a window and they have not been altered at all by photoshop. I'm REALLY impressed with the color and clarity from this camera! You can see every strand and fiber in these poms of yarn. I can't BELIEVE I got this kind of detail from a PHONE CAMERA.

Very similar to my Galaxy S3 or just about any high end phone released over the last year or so. Well, except the Nexus and Motorola devices. Those are not as good. But the Lumia phones look even better than the G2.

I don't know if you opened the actual images and viewed them at 100% but they are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the S3. I've used the S3 camera and on outdoor shots it's okay but indoor it gets NOTHING remotely close to this quality. Even the pics I've seen from the S4 and HTC One don't look nearly as clean and color accurate as these. As for lumia, if they ever decide to do Android and not Windows, I'd consider them but I'll NEVER own a windows phone.

I agree that the camera is much better than the S3, not even a question. It's only slightly better than the S4 and quite a bit better than the HTC One, although I still like the One for really low light situations (indoor in a restaurant for dinner for example).

PowerPlayGraphix... Those are crazy good photos. Just with ambient lighting in a room? Wow. Any special change to the settings?

Have you seen how good the Galaxy S3 pictures look when taken properly?

Some of you guys should research the placebo effect. The difference between the pictures is minuscule at best. I would even go as far as saying S4 camera is better than LG G2.

They were taken at the 13 mp setting and the "Intelligent Autocorrect" on and that's it. Also, one other thing, each of the "puffs" is about the size of a quarter so you can get an idea of scale of the Poms in the organized box. The mixed box is a variety of sizes. The lighting was purely sunlight coming in a window.

And dportal2006, quit trolling. This is the G2 section. If you don't like the G2 and feel the need to slam it to make you feel better about your phone, please do it somewhere else. We are quite happy with the purchase we've made and the quality that we are getting. If you're happy with your S3 or S4 or whatever you happen to have, then I'm happy for you. In most of the objective reviews I've seen, they come out neck and neck with some points going to one and some going to the other. All belittling others for their opinion does is prove how insecure you are. Have fun playing with your phone. I know I'm enjoying mine.

You can see here a comparison between the G2,S4 and iphone 5 cameras.

LG G2 camera samples (vs GS4 and iPhone 5)

(Click on "view as one page")

The S4 is directly below the G2 and you can see how much more detailed the G2 really is.

You can see that it is obvious the G2 took the best picture. Followed by the iphone 5, although not as bright and clear as the G2 it isnt as smudged and lacking of detail as the one taken by the S4, which is the worst of the 3 by a lot.

The evidence is all over the place. You're ridiculous.

LOL i am not trying to be troll. In fact, i love the G2 and i think it an excellent smartphone. What i was trying to say was the difference between say an S3 (last year tech) and G2 is not as big as some people make it out to be. I mean would you say it is anything above 10% better?? I would say it is that at best.

Not a hater or a troll just trying to make a point.

Cool, it just came across as kind of trollish ;) (which I've had happen before too)

Anyway, applying percentages is hard to say on something as subjective as this. I know it's the best smartphone camera I've had and I think it has the potential to be even better with better camera software. In looking at some of the comparison shots I've seen in some of the heavy duty comparisons between it and the S4 and then the BIG boys like the Z1 and the Lumia 1020, it seems to do better (IMO) than the S4 and even some of the Z1 side by sides, but of course the 1020 leaves them all in the dust. If they just wouldn't handicap that phone with the dang Windows and put Android on it I'd consider it. As for right now though, I'm thoroughly pleased with the results I'm getting and I've even purchased a tripod mount to put on my tripod and monopod to used for daily shooting. I have an SLR but this is good enough to get the day to day stuff and quick family gathering stuff. I may play with some of the other camera software out there and see what difference it makes in the quality of similar pictures.

I would have bought the lumia 920 if it came with Android instead of Windows OS. I like Windows OS but the lack of quality apps and support from developer is really detrimental to the OS overall.
