Root [Boost Mobile] Need stock Boost APN from rooted, non Modified stock ROM for testing.

Hi all. I need someone who is running the stock Boost ROM who has not messed with their stock APN config file.

I want to compare some xml's and see if I can figure out the bug with 4G and MMS with the AOSP ROMs.

To do this, get APN Backup Restore from Google play. Once you have it, use Titanium backup to make it a system app. You can also just add it to the system files. It's easier with Titanium though. You just long press the app in Titanium, then scroll to the bottom and select the option to make it a system app.

Reboot the phone.

Once that has been done, open the app. Open settings and select the ICS check then on the main app page, select backup APN.

Go to the APN Backup and Restore folder. Should be on your internal sd.

Zip it up and upload it to Dropbox or Media Fire then shoot me the link.

I would really appreciate someone doing this for me.

Thanks. :)

wait, its lte right? do you guys not have lte and mms at all because i made an apn that works on zte boost phones running cyanogenmod for both. it sort of carried over to virgins s3 but it had some issues with mms while on lte

check out my github it should be on there i think, ill double check and give a direct link in a min

hey btw make sure to let me know if it works, and let the world know for that matter, if it functions properly let me know in here and make yourself a new thread with the apn file so everyone knows its there

https://github.com/junkie2100/android_device_zte_aurora/blob/jellybean/prebuilts/etc/apns-conf.xml

that is the apn that works on cm for the zte boost force, i would assume it is universal among boost lte devices

Thanks. I don't have LTE so I can't check if it works or not. I was just going to compare the xml's and then get some friends that have 4G to try them.

I will ask a buddy of mine to see if yours will work so he can get 4G and MMS to work at the same time. Right now it's either 4G and no MMS or just 3G and MMS.

If it works then you've just saved me some work. Lol

Thanks again for sharing it.

The post below has the stock xml's . I'll still take a look at it.
Hopefully yours will work for us though. :)

Restoring stock rom now and will post as soon as it is done

Thanks you. Junkie posted one that he made. Hopefully it'll work. I would still like to compare yours so that kind you for getting the link up so fast. I appreciate it.

kool just let me know in here tapatalk will move it to the top for me since ive posted here already. and make sure to test sending and recieving, the problem on the virgin model wasnt sending that went fine, getting mms messages proved impossible though while on 4g

Yeah. These guys can get 4G while running AOSP but mms won't work. It's either have 4G with no MMS or just keep 3G and have working MMS.

As i mentioned earlier, I don't have 4G in my are right now. I was going to compare the xml 's and see if I could figure out a fix.

Sent a couple PM' s out to some friends who I'm pretty sure have 4G. Hopefully it'll work for them.

well at least ya kno whats.needed for lte now, got somewhere to start. good luck

We've got LTE with AOSP bro. We just don't have LTE and MMS. It's one or the other. Personally it's not affecting me. No LTE in my area. I was just trying to help the guys out who do have LTE.

What's got me trippin is how much of a difference there is between the xml for the Force and the S3. Have you taken a look at the stock xml that was posted in this thread and compared it to the one for the Force ? Huge difference. I wouldn't have thought there would've been that big a difference.

Thanks for your help though.

note sure if this will help with anyone having mms issue.
i was in the same boat with m.o.a.r rom for some reason text but no pciture and did all the other fixes then did this below and now txt works and everything else seems to work hope this helps. not sure if it will work while on wifi since i don't have wifi where i am to test at the moment.

THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE CUSTOMIZED FOR FASTER SEND TIMES

1) Get Titanium Backup
2) Get APN Manager PRO(which was at one time free I think) but costs a dollar something now, a dollars cheap to have your APN working and MMS
3) Convert APN Manager Pro into system app
4) Run APN Manager Pro and create a Boost apn, and only add these settings below

Name: BoostMobile
APN: MMS
Proxy:
Port:
User Name: BoostMobile
Password:
Server:
MMSC: http://mm.myboostmobile.com
MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 00
APN Type:

Now save and enable, your MMS should now work
