fiance needs a new smartphone, what should I suggest

well, we would have to know a little more to recommend a phone, i dont know any specifics about metros phones or plans really but i know this, if someone doesnt do much else than play angry birds and facebook, they are better off with a name brand. its not gonna be their newest model and technically its gonna be slower than say a zte brand of the same price, but itll be much more reliable and less buggy
see what you can get, im a fan of samsung myself but everyone has their preference, lg and htc are also good name brands
you also have to take.into account whether they will need lte, how big of a screen is best for them, kuz i know i cant use a phone under 4.3 inches with my huge ass hands lol, but smaller hands cant use a phone that big

Get the Lg Optimus F3. That phone is a steal for $150.

I think the larger screen on the F6 is worth the extra $50.
If you gave me $200 and said I had to get a phone today with it, I'd get the F6.
Other than it's screen being .2" smaller, it looks like the closest thing to a GSM'd LG Spirit that I have now and the Spirit is around $50 more. (And it's still CDMA)

How is the battery life on F6. I have an F3 and it is amazing. That is probably what i like the most about the phone. That and the fact it runs very smooth.
