Anyone tried a bad IMEI AT&T Branded Device on BYOD

Wondering if it will work or not, I know I tried just for sh*ts and giggles with a T-mobile one and it was a no go, anyone tried with an ATT one?

I've never tried, but have heard carriers share bad IMEI numbers so it's more then likely to fail.

Either way, I wouldn't buy a phone with a bad IMEI, especially for $500

Yep, they share the list.

Always check with your carrier, have them check the number for you before buying a used phone.

Blacklisted devices can't be activated.

Workarounds claiming to fix things are illegal.

People still buy counterfeit sd cards off of eBay. Been going on for years.

Outrageous, outright ripoffs. Many have complained to eBay about it, nothing has been done.

The whole thing gets more trust than it ought to for mobile tech imo.

hmm, never thought of it that way...I was looking at a sandisk ultra class 10 on amazon for 50$ now im scared it can be a fake card...how can I tell?

Amazon is a bit more legit than eBay is, for the most part. That's not to say you won't get ripped off, but odds are better getting ripped off from a seller on eBay.

Yup, I double-checked with my T-mobile Direct guy, he tried it and said we'd be SOL if we attempted it because he's tried and it didn't work. I got a better deal on something else though lol
