First, my apologies if these questions have already been asked, I looked through the threads and didn't see them but I might have missed them. I really like what I am hearing and reading about this phone but have a few concerns that are keeping me from making my final decision.

Question 1- This will be my first phone with a permanent battery, I typically keep my devices longer than most so, if needed, is there a way to replace the battery?
Question 2- I have read, not on this forum, that some are reporting dead pixels. Has anyone experienced this or does anyone have concerns that this might be an issue down the line?
Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, you can open up the Nexus 5 and replace the battery. I plan on doing it when the time comes. Here is a link to a teardown procedure on IFIXIT that shows you how to do it.
Nexus 5 Teardown - iFixit

My Nexus 5 has no dead pixels, but I can't speak for anyone else.

I've seen only one person here report a dead pixel. It clearly is not wide spread. In that case, they called Google and got a replacement.

No dead pixels here either.

I will say this.... for the price you cannot.. absolutely cannot beat this phone.
I have never been concerned with phones and internal batteries.
Some people want that extra layer of security knowing they can replace it easily or add an SD card... and so forth.

Think of it this way... you get an N5 this year... then save your pennies and Next November you can buy the new Nexus 'huffalump' that will come out next :D

The next Nexus has to be called "ROY" - surely.

As above, I've only seen one report on a dead pixel, and I'm sure warranty covered it. LG are a premium phone manufacturer and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this display.

The battery doesn't hold any concerns for me. I only plan on keeping the device a year though.
