Rooting instructions are phone specific and I don't see anything or know of any instructions for rooting a Butterfly.

Have you tried to root your phone and if so what instructions did you go by. Trying to root it without the information specific to the Butterfly can lead to BIG problems.

Moved our posts to your device root forum here.
Let me check out and read the root link and get back with ya.

Question tho, that rom you flashed, is it for the butterfly? And did you flash it via recovery?

Edit: ok...I think I found that rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393722

It does not appear you need to flash a boot image at all..:

from that link said:
Make sure your device is unlocked or have s-off
Download ROM and put it on internal sdcard
Put device in bootloader mode (Power + Volume Down)
Enter Recovery and do wipe first
Find in Recovery "Choose zip from sdcard" choose appropriate zip file
Proceed steps that Aroma installer gives
Reboot device after finishing installation

YES it was for HTC BUTTERFLY S
i flash the rom from recovery
i flash boot.img too from bootloader
everything is working there is no problem
but when i am going HBOOT
that message coming
SD CHECKING..
...
...
...
no image or wrong image!

what you write, i did all of them :(

This message you see in bootloader:

I believe is normal...bootloader is looking for a PCxxIMG.zip on the sd card and not finding it....and it's not finding it because it's not there...that is fine. PCxxIMG.zip files is a generic file for installing different things via the bootloader.

All you need worry about is flashing the rom.zip with recovery. Do not extract the rom zip file...just leave it zipped up...and put it on your card:)
No need to flash a boot img file.
Does that make sense?

i didn't extract the rom zip file
how can i put PC36IMG to sd card?
where can i find PC36IMG file?
My phone is working correctly
there is no problem
only when i am opening HBOOT
that message disturbing me :(
i have another problem
when i connect my phone to computer
i can not find backup file
is it normal?
Now i am copying backup file to sd card,
copying backup from sd card to pc

and i can not get backup direct to sd card :(
i thing PC36IMG is problem :(

When you say "backup file'..do you mean the nandroid backup you made in recovery?

Let me clarify that PC36IMG thing....
Let's say you wanted to change your recovery.
Or you wanted to change your bootanimation.
When you find the file to do so, one of the options to install, is via bootloader.
The way to install that file via bootloader, is to name that file "PC36IMG.zip".
Bootloader will always look for that file name on the sd card.....no matter what that file contains. If you have no such file, bootloader won't find it.
It will always look for that file, whether it exists or not....when it does not find it, you will get that error....it is normal.
If your phone is acting normal, no worries about that error:)

Does that make sense? If not, I can rephrase it, no worries ;)

Thanks. Do you have any idea? Why i can not see backup file from Computer? Or why i can not get backup direct to sd card?

When you made the backup, it may have defaulted to save to the internal memory.
The file may be under "backups" or "CWM" ?
Does that device have an external memory card too?

Not sure, but when you make the backup, you have a choice to save to internal or external memory. I use TWRP, but CWM may be the same way.

Can you view your memory (internal or external) via a file explorer?
I don't know what your file explorer is named but some other 3rd party file explorers are name ES File Explorer, or Astro File Explorers, or Root Explorer. (available in the Play Store) :)

Well, I would assume you have an sd card inserted?
Do you get an error when you choose to backup to the sd card?

Can you view any other files, internal or external, with a file explorer?
Can you view any other files, internal or external, via the computer?

Sorry for all the questions :o

I am sorry :( for getting your time. When i chose the sd card for backup. Trying and can not find the sd card. Going back to Cwm menu. From root Explorer or from computer i can see both memory (int and ext memory)

I don't mind answering questions...it's fun:)
I seem to recall an issue with CWM seeing the external card...I just need to find that thread somewhere ;)

o.k....so I would assume it's backing up to the internal then yes?
Can you find the backup on the internal?
