Root [Virgin Mobile] VM Galaxy S III - Android 4.3 Confirmed

I know. I know. Android 4.4 is what really matters.

But, the fact that VM even bothered to update us is great news. Perhaps, this means an official 4.4 update down the road?

Strange. We haven't gotten the update yet but yet they are giving it away with the newest Samsung Galaxy s3... That's messed up.

I called customer service about the update. They said that it was in the works and that they would send users a notification when it was ready.

Well, after all I've seen, I believe it. But, I hound android update news. Do you still have that source?

if you go to Samsung Open Source Release Center and search for 'sph-l710' there are two new zip files. i think the 'mk5' one is for VMUSA.

i just woke up and looked at my phone and there was a popup on my screen telling me the update was downloaded and ready to install

Oh ok, well are you non rooted and completely stock, or are you rooted. I heard that you probably can't get it if you are rooted.

Ok that explains why I didn't get it then. I heard that if your on a custom recovery you won't get it. If I could unroot my phone really quickly I could see if it could work.

I checked for update on my stock S3 and I'm not getting it yet.

You should still get the notification but it will not install with customrecovery!!

Completely stock phone here, no notification. It is probably being rolled out gradually to keep the servers from getting jammed.

Yeah, that's what they did with the past upgrades for the S3.

So yea just got the notification. I just unrooted my phone and when I get home I will test out this 4.3 bad boy!

Ok so one question. Wil the OTA work if I have CWM?

Well I went back to unrooted but no notification! I don't get it!
I guess it's up to you punkmaxx let me know when you have it cwm flashable thanks!!!
