Nova Launcher

Just wondering if anyone has installed Nova on their N5?
If so how does it run, is it better than the stock Launcher?
I used to love Nova on my S3, was trying to keep my N5 stock but I'm so tempted to install Nova

Yes and everything runs perfect, no issues at all. Only minor thing is the home, back keys, etc. at the bottom of the screen are in a black bar instead of being transparent like with the stock launcher.

Sign up for the beta, it has transparency. It will soon come to the non-beta Nova also, if you dont wish to run beta.

Were can I find the beta version? I've searched several different ways in the play store but can't seem to locate it.

I never understood people wanting to use a launcher on stock Android. I used Nova on my S3, but that was cause touchwiz is so ugly. I have no issues except I wish Google will incorporate infinite home screen scrolling some day.

Gestures is one of them.

I like just flicking down anywhere on a homescreen and the notification bar popping down.

- Does stock Vanilla let you slide the bottom icon row?
- Hide apps
- Change the way screens rotate when swapping
Etc

The attraction of vanilla is not that it is vanilla, it is really that you, rather than someone else, can decide what you want to do with your Android. You are happy, Nova users are happy, people who prefer something else are happy. It's whatever you want it to be given your preferences and the amount of tweaking you are comfortable with.

Yup. Keeping my wallpaper more visible by adding more 8 more icons to the dock. Surprised?

Yes I am surprised. I used that feature for about 1 minute and was done with it. There is no need to scroll your dock. Your dock is your favorites. It's the main hub on your phone. How can you possibly need more options there? Plus, it's too easy to scroll pages and miss and hit your dock by accident. That option is simply pointless.

Not everybody is steveu694. So to some of us there is a need to scroll the dock

+1,but I have swipe down bound to turn off screen /lock the device (via an app called 'secure settings')

Gestures is one of my favorite features on Nova, followed closely by how easy it is to change icons. I like a clean desktop that gets to my favorite apps quickly. Anywhere on the screen; one finger down opens notifications, two fingers down opens settings, one finger up opens the app drawer, two fingers up shuts the screen off (via Screen Off app) and that still leaves 5 other Gestures unbound.

Then there is the shortcut Gestures. I have 5 icons in my dock, four folders and a center icon for Google Search. Swiping any of these up opens a different app. So in total I have access to 10 different things with a single gesture…

Now that I have revealed my setup, I’m starting to see why my wife thinks I may have a touch of OCD….. I’m still calling it “being organized”.:D

Here is how it looks:
