Nova on the moto x why

So I am just curious why you would run nova prime on a damn near vanilla android device I loved nova on my note 2 and HTC one but what are some big and or fun/good reasons to run nova prime instead of stock.

In Nova Launcher Prime ($4.00) ...

Toggle notification bar on/off (I have it tied to double-tap on the screen)

Toggle dock on/off.

Multiple "pages" in the dock.

Hide pre-installed software in the app drawer so you never have to look at it.

The home screen rotates.

Nova adds a ton of features and extra little things to do. Play around with it and see what you think. Also, Nova usually seems to run very well. My phone feels faster with Nova. Cant explain it.

I am off Nova, just running complete stock at the moment. The one thing that bothers me in stock is the amount of space the first row of icons is from the bottom line of icons. In Nova its much more streamlined in that sense.

If you disable the app in settings you do the same thing and you never see prompts for updates for those apps. I've done it with a few of them (like the caller ID one that you have to spend money to get to work).

I echo this. It just seems faster. Aside from the speed, I like that I can get rid of the Google search bar. I honestly don't mess with the rest of the customizations although there are many. I typically don't care.

In addition to what has been said, I also rely heavily on the following Nova features:

1. Gestures (1 finger down to open notifications, 1 finger up to open app tray (I have dock hidden), 2 down to silence, 2 up to vibrate, pinch for flashlight, expand for settings, etc.)

2. Icon and Folder swipes (so many possibilities).

3. Reduce margins and increase grid size. Makes your screen feel huge.

4. Better transition animations and you can make them faster.

5. Transparent app drawer, folders in app drawer, transition animations in app drawer.

6. Transparent notification and on-screen buttons.

These are great reasons.

Its hard to like Nova if you are not picky about your phone. But for people who love messing with things and constantly looking for ways to save .01 seconds...Nova is amazing. :)

Several of the reasons noted above, but more than anything else, to get rid of the Google
Search Bar on every page. It irks me to know end that Google does not allow you to remove it.

Well, you run Nova for the same reasons you did on the Note 2 and HTC One-- it's a vanilla styled launcher, just with an extensive feature list.

Personally, I like the transition animations, the ability to set the numbers of homescreens, scrolling docks, gestures, and the ability to better organize my app drawer (there are apps which I want enabled, but don't necessarily need to see each day, such as the ad-blocker).

That's hilarious. I have been using Nova for so long that I forgot that Google sticks that Search Bar on every page. That would drive me nuts.

Nova is obviously not for me. I want the notification bar, I need only one set of dock icons and always want to see it when I'm home, and I use the google search bar almost every day. Adding that was one of the best parts of android 4.x in my opinion.
