Help Remove Google Currents on Nexus 10?

Google Newsstand replaced Google Currents. Yet on the Nexus 10 you cannot remove Google Currents. Any idea?

Apps built into /system can't be removed without root access or a ROM update that removes it.

If the app icon bothers you, just disable the app. It'll be removed from the app drawer

I think he more refers to why would Google (Nexus) leave the app, especially as not user removable, when it has been replaced................

Or if you use a launcher like Nova, there's an option to hide specific apps in the drawer

Because the process of updating one app can't uninstall another. It would have to be via OTA update

Another thing to consider, since its a system app and therefore in /system, uninstalling it wouldn't open up any more space for the user downloaded apps (/data).
