Best buy exchange policy?

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of exchanges you can make within the 14 day exchange period?

Yes. Three times. After the third, you will be banned from all exchanges or returns for 90 days. They will tell you and force you to sign a receipt stating you were told.

Do you mean returning the same item multiple times, or buying 20 different products and exchanging them?

They do ask for your info when you return something, so they do keep track of how many times you return stuff, not sure of a specific limit. EDIT: HanSolo replied with a limit of 3 while I was typing.

Yes, it doesn't matter if they are different items or whatnot. They ask for your identification, and track your exchanges/returns that way, even if you used only cash.

After the third time, you're on ice for 90 days.

Target, I've found, is a bit more lenient. They give you 30 days to return in the first place.

Talking about cell phones exclusively. There's a 14 day period when u can exchange for a different device. Just wondering of there's a limit on how many times you can change.

Ah. I think you're better off asking. The mobile department is a completely different animal than the rest of the store.

This is true in most cases. In almost all cases, those are run by a third party and the department store just plays "host" to them.

You have 15 days to exchange the phone from the day the new contract is signed (upgrade/new line of service).

The day the contract is signed is Day One, even if you are the last customer in the store at the end of the night.

Your 15 days does not start over if you do an exchange.

You have just 14 days to reverse the upgrade/cancel the new line of service; again, the day you sign the contract is Day One.

If you reverse the upgrade/cancel the new line of service, it will be a minimum of 24 hours before you can try again with the same carrier.

Disclaimer: I work at Best Buy.

Ok my experience was that I was able to return and exchange at least 3 times within the 14 days.

I haven't been told that there is a limit, but the exchange period is 15 days. That I know for sure.

It is probalby safe to say that the consumer protection laws vary from state to state so there may be some variance between a purchase in a AK Best Buy versus a MA Best Buy.
