So what it says is, "We've been giving you spotty 3G service, we still can't give you 4G service, we've been giving you slow data speeds, weak signals and we've been dropping your calls."
Sure would make ME feel confident if I had VM, huh? I think they need to hire some new people in their marketing department.

Its possible and probable that you live in an area with poor VM coverage and possibly only you and ppl who also live in our area with VM got that message, letting you know there planing to increase the signal strength in our area most likely but opening up or using Kore towers in the area
So far my service has been pretty great. At my house I usually get anywhere from one to three bars and at college I get a constant 3 bars and I have 4g. Also, when I'm "out and about" I notice that I have 4g most of the time.
Speeds are pretty decent too. Sometimes when I'm on 3g I'll get as high as 1mbps. Back when I was running stock, I would usually get speeds of 8-20mbps on 4g. Ever since I flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 I've been getting around 2-8mbps (which in my opinion is still decent.)
Overall, I like virgin mobile and I don't see myself switching to another carrier anytime in the near future. For only $35 a month with 300 mins, unlimited texting and data its unbeatable.

Yeah... I already get great service, but it'll be awesome if they do actually go through with this upgrade cuz I'll have even better service

Network Vision upgrades are ongoing in your area and probably the site you connect too is currently getting upgraded.

+1 on all that. I never got the upgrade message, I just lost service in my neighborhood. I called to complain and they gave me a $1/day credit for all of the time I didn't have service. Service is good now. I love virgin mobile!
It'll be sooooo awesome!
Yeah, it can take a couple weeks to upgrade the towers, during which you will sometimes not have a signal while they're working on it. But the end results are nice

If you are referring to the message you got from Sprint that looked like this then don't think to much into it, this message went out nationwide. More than likely Network Vision upgrades are nearing 90% completion.
