Question about buying a phone off Ebay

I need some urgent help. Im not phone savvy and could use some help

My mother would like a basic phone. The new phones now are crap and i suggested she get the LG VX9100

I was wondering if someone could link me a retail model that will work on the Verizon network. I dont want to get screwed over on buying something that wont be able to get activated.

Also i myself am looking for a new phone to replace my iphone 4s. I was looking at the LG G2 or the Droid MAXX or Ultra.

Any help! I been out of the android loop forawhile. Thanks!
 
When buying from Ebay there's no 100% on anything, you need to find something that completely matches what you want, read the description THOROUGHLY (people like to be sly) and make sure the seller has a good rating. If worst comes to worst I believe Ebay has a policy that will help if you get scammed but can't say anything for sure.

This one looks promising though.

Yes! I was looking at that one. I just couldnt tell for sure if thats exactly what i needed.
 
I prefer craigslist... that way you find someone local.

arrange to meet at the local carrier retail store. there you can have the phone checked out.. and get it activated before you pay.
 
Swappa.com is great for Android (and iPhones), they don't have basic phones though. I've gotten phones there before, never had a problem. Just ask questions of the seller and negotiate a good price!
 
Well my mom decided she wanted the Env3. Nice looking phone, wonder why they quit making them. I loved LG phones

And i decided on the Moto X. I dig how you can customize it! This will be fun. Plus the MAXX is freaking huge, i went in store today and couldnt believe how big that sucker is. And the LG g2 IS HUGE Also

The moto x is perfect.
